What happens when you want a Porsche but also a family minivan? Well, for Meta (formerly Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the answer is to hit up LA-based West Coast Customs to come up with a solution.
Those from the MTV era will be familiar with West Coast Customs, as the tuning shop was responsible for churning out some radical (sometimes impractical) projects for the show Pimp My Ride. When Zuckerberg’s wife, Pricilla Chan, said she wanted a minivan as her next car, Zuckerberg didn’t opt for brands with ready-made minivans.
Instead, he had a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT modified with an extended frame and powered sliding doors, sharing the resulting creation on his Instagram page. With a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 making 650 hp and 849 Nm of torque, it shouldn’t be much of a hassle to get the family to where they need to go quickly.
If the idea of a Porsche minivan seems ridiculous, the German carmaker actually considered the idea in the past when it revealed a concept called Vision Renndienst back in 2020. Originally conceived in 2018, it was billed as a “family-friendly van for up to six people.”
In addition to a Cayenne-based minivan, West Coast Customs also customised Zuckerberg’s 911 GT3 Touring in the same colour to make a “his and hers” pairing.
