For Malaysia’s middleweight sports bike market, there is now the 2024 CFMoto 500SR Voom, priced at RM35,888. Pricing does not include road tax, insurance or registration and every 500SR Voom comes with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty with online purchase of spare parts through the official CFMoto Malaysia website.
Launched at Kedai Motorsikal Tenaga in Semenyih, Selangor, the 500SR Voom is available locally in two colour schemes – Zephyr Blue and Nebula White. The 500SR Voom features a pseudo-retro design with twin round headlights, somewhat reminiscent of the CFMoto Papio.
Unique in its class is the 500SR Voom’s inline four-cylinder engine, liquid-cooled and displacing 499 cc. Power is rated at 77.78 hp at 12,500 rpm (81.8 hp with ram air) with 49 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm, going to the rear wheel via a quickshifter and slipper clutch equipped six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
Wheel sizing is 17-inches, fitted with 120/70 and 160/70 tyres, front and rear, respectively. A steering damper is fitted as standard equipment while suspension is done with 41 mm diameter upside-down forks in front, adjustable for rebound and preload, while the rear end comes with a monoshock, also rebound and preload adjustable.
Braking on the front wheel is done with twin four-piston radial-mount callipers, with 300 mm diameter discs while the back wheel gets a single disc with floating single-piston brake calliper. Riding electronics includes two-channel ABS and two-mode traction control, as well as emergency stop signal that activates the hazard lights during sudden stops or emergency situations.
Weight for the 500SR Voom is listed as 194 kg with 15.5-litres of fuel carried in the tank. Seat height is set at 795 mm while riding information is displayed on a 5-inch TFT-LCd screen and for charging the rider’s electronics, USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports are fitted.

The more you look at it, the weirder it looks. The bulbous tail and bucktooth headlight is just plain weird.
The 800NK is still one of the nicer and cohesive designs out of CFmoto yet. They should just have made a fully faired 800″ST” sports touring model with luggage capability.
Not everyone likes naked bikes. I seriously do not like naked bikes. This design is super to me. However, design is subjective.

Clearly you’re not its target market since it is aimed for those who like neo retro design like Yamaha XSR and CB650R naked, while this one follow their own Papio minibike design.
Unique design. Good power. I like it. But will need to see it in person to be 100% sure.
