Massive floods in Kelantan displace 8,838 residents

Flooding across nine districts in Kelantan has displace 8,838 residents as of 2.43pm today, according to a report by Sinar Harian. Pasir Mas reported the highest number of evacuees with 1,634 people, which is followed by Kota Bharu (1,561) and Pasir Puteh (1,386).

Videos and photos being shared on social media show water levels rising to dangerous marks in various areas of the state. Rantau Panjang is said to be nearly “paralysed” as its main access roads are submerged, with only heavy vehicles able to traverse the area.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat has urged residents in low-lying areas to evacuate early in order to avoid potential issues during rescue operations, especially as waters rise and currents intensify.

Maybe they can check with the previous Environmental Man who stated Malaysia is not a climate vulnerable country back in 2021 and then go dish out direct negotiation tender to his flood mitigation project to his cronies to solve what?

Drop of water in the ocean of shit doesn’t make any difference. It’s just a wayang.

This climate thing has zero impact on decision making. People want progress and money above all else. Reality folks… It’s just reality. However stupid it seems long term
