This is a very tiny consolation to families who have lost everything they have in this monsoon season and floods, but at least it saves them some legwork when it’s time to rebuild. JPJ says that there’s no need for flood victims to replace their physical road tax, lesen or geran lost in the disaster, as it’s all digital now.
“Flood victims need not worry if their LKM (Lesen Kenderaan Motor, road tax), grants or vehicle documents are lost or damaged, as these are available on the MyJPJ app. Users can utilise the app, while authorities can verify the information through the same platform,” said JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli.
The D-G, which spoke to Bernama at the launch of the JPJ Masjid Tanah branch in Melaka last week, said that this is in line with the departments transition towards full digitalisation in the future.
Meanwhile, MetMalaysia has issued a heavy rain warning for seven states including those heavily affected in the East Coast. The warning, issued at 9am this morning, says that the bad weather is projected to continue into this Wednesday. Even if it’s not flooding in your area, drive safe on wet roads.
