Lexus RC production ending in Nov 2025 – Radical Coupe bids farewell with Final Edition for Japan, US

After a decade on the market, production of the Lexus RC will come to an end in November this year. To send off the ‘Radical Coupe’, the company is offering both the regular and high-performance F versions of the model in a special Final Edition trim level.

In Japan, the RC F Final Edition will be limited to 200 units, each priced at 13.6 million yen (about RM390k). The powertrain is the same as a regular RC F, with a 2UR-GSE 5.0 litre naturally-aspirated V8 providing 481 PS (475 hp or 354 kW) at 7,100 rpm and 535 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm.

The petrol engine gets a special engine cover badge and is paired with an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission which sends drive to the rear wheels via a rear differential that is said gain “precision tuning.”

Unique styling touches for the RC F Final Edition include 19-inch BBS aluminium wheels that are accompanied by red front brake calipers bearing the ‘F’ mark. The automatic electric folding side mirrors are also finished in black with a “smoke paint decoration,” and the car gets a carbon-fibre front spoiler, side skirts, roof, rear diffuser and active rear wing. Seven body colours are offered.

As for interior, it gets black and red theme, with carbon-fibre being used for the trim just above the glove box and the window switch surrounds. There’s also ‘Final Edition’ plaque just ahead of the gear selector, while other touches include seats upholstered in Ultrasuede, suede-like fabric for the instrument binnacle cowl, a special welcome message displayed on the part-digital instrument cluster and branded puddle lamps.

The lesser RC Final Edition comes in nine colours and gets some of the F version’s items, albeit with some differences. For instance, the 19-inch wheels are made by Enkei and look different, while the red brake calipers have ‘Lexus’ on them – no carbon-fibre body kit either. The same is also true of the interior, with the change being ‘F Sport’ being projected by the puddle lamps instead of the ‘F’ mark.

The RC F Final Edition is offered with three powertrains, including the RC300, RC350 and RC300h (hybrid), with prices ranging between 6.66 million and 7.67 million yen (RM192k and RM221k). The RC Final Edition range won’t be offered in the United States, which only gets the regular line-up that sees slight changes – the RC F Final Edition will be offered there though.
