Nissan Australia has announced a 10-year, 300,000-km warranty that is part of its new Nissan MORE ownership programme. Effective January 1, 2025, the 10-year warranty will be offered on all new Nissan models along with roadside assistance.
In an official release, the company said the 10-year warranty will also be offered in addition to the five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty currently in place on new Nissans sold in Australia, with the additional five-year coverage being complimentary. Owners will simply need to service their vehicle at the correct intervals at a Nissan dealer to activate the 10-year warranty.
If that isn’t enough, the 10-year warranty will be backdated to eligible Nissan vehicles purchased new since January 1, 2021, which is good news for existing owners of previous generation models. Vehicles that have completed all scheduled services at the correct time or interval will automatically qualify for the warranty extension.
However, if an owner has a lapsed maintenance schedule or serviced their vehicle through a non-Nissan dealer, they will need to return to an official dealer for a AUD99 (about RM270) vehicle assessment to assess their eligibility to enter the programme – this must be completed on or before December 31, 2025.
With this update, Nissan matches Mitsubishi and MG in offering a 10-year warranty in Australia, although Nissan’s coverage of up 300,000 km exceeds the other two that are at 200,000 km and 250,000 km respectively.
In addition to the 10-year warranty, the company is also rolling out a Five-year Flat Price Service (FPS) programme that enables customers to “lock in” the cost of each service over five years. The cost per service with FPS is AUD349 for the Leaf (RM960); AUD399 (RM1,099) for the Qashqai, X-Trail, Juke and Pathfinder; and AUD499 (RM1,375) for the Patrol, Z and Navara.

In tough times and in a period where the new car market is full of mixed messages, Nissan Australia is putting our customers first,” said Michael Hill, director of aftersales at Nissan Oceania.

However what exactly does the warranty cover for 10 years and what isn’t? May need to be vigilant and look closer into T&C to see what they categorise as wear and tear and not included in the warranty.
A joke (?) considering so many parts can fail in an X-trail. Or there is a very short list of what items which are actually under the 10 years warranty?
