Rapid Bus has announced in a statement that it will be providing feeder bus services to the Sri Subramaniar Swamy temple in Batu Caves and the Arulmigu Balathandaythapani temple in Penang for Thaipusam this year on February 11, 2025.
A total of 42 buses will be deployed for 24-hour operation on the day, and this will consist of 30 buses in Kuala Lumpur and 12 buses in Penang.
The free feeder bus service in Kuala Lumpur operates on the BC02 route from the Pasar Seni hub to Batu Caves, the BC03 route from the Gombak LRT station to Batu Caves, and the BC04 route from the Kg Batu MRT station to Batu Caves from 6am on February 10 to 12am on February 11, and then to 12am on February 12. These will be on a 10-minute frequency, according to the Rapid Bus statement.
In Penang, the free feeder bus service will operate on the ST01 route from the Weld Quay jetty terminal to the Penang Adventist Hospital. The first trip on the ST01 route from the Weld Quay terminal will begin at 7am on February 10, and the last trip will be at 1am on February 12.
From the Penang Adventist Hospital, the first trip on the ST01 route will be at 7:30am on February 10, and the last trip will be at 2am on February 12. The ST01 feeder bus route for Penang will operate on a frequency of 20, 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the arrival times of the ferry service, says Rapid Bus.
Rapid Bus urges road users not to park their vehicles in obstruction of the bus paths, and to obey the road rules. To that end, Rapid Bus will be working with enforcement agencies and local authorities to ensure the smooth operation of the free feeder bus service in Kuala Lumpur and in Penang, Rapid Bus said in its statement.
“This initiative is part of Rapid Bus’ effort to make it easier for the public to visit the locations while encouraging the use of public transport to help reduce congestion in the surrounding areas. We will monitor passenger needs from time to time and are ready to increase the number of buses if necessary to ensure passenger comfort,” Bernama quoted Rapid Bus as saying.

Kata xde duit utk subsidi, kata takde duit utk toll free CNY lepas tuu uturn hanya kasi 50% diskaun itupon hari2 yg ramai sudah balik kampung. Now kasi free KTM, kasi free bus, lagi kasi free parking on MRR2. Trying to fish votes from a certain demography?
I don’t agree with the government on other things but I support this. This initiative encourage the people to use public transport instead of driving their cars. Thus will reduce the cars and motorcycles on the roads making it less jam. Less congested means more pleasing experience for the others who drive.
