Stellantis’ regional parts hub in Malaysia gets first shipment of stock; operational Q1 2025

Stellantis’ new regional parts hub in Malaysia, which will serve India and Asia-Pacific, has received its first shipment of stock, the automotive conglomerate announced today. The milestone marks the initial phase of a total shipment of €10 million (RM46.4 million), €8 million (RM37.2 million) of which is currently in transit from North America, France, Italy and China, comprising a total of 35,000 SKUs.

The facility, located in an unnamed free trade zone, continues to be on track to be operational within the first quarter of the year, the company added. It will serve all brands – Peugeot, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Ram, Leapmotor and more – across approximately 20 countries, us included.

Stellantis said the hub is key to enhancing after-sales service by “reducing downtime and ensuring efficient access and availability” of parts and components to dealers and consumers.

The company has been building Malaysia up as a regional hub since 2021, as part of its “Built in ASEAN for ASEAN” roadmap. Its ex-Naza assembly plant in Gurun, Kedah serves as a manufacturing hub for both domestic and export markets in ASEAN, while Malaysian sales, marketing, distribution and after-sales for the Peugeot and Leapmotor brands are now being handled by its subsidiary Stellantis Malaysia.

If stellantis wanna be serious and genuine about setting up hub in msia, should the state government and federal government provide incentives and assistance?.. can blthis be opportunities for local auto part maker to join their supply chain?

In.Europe peugoet is all about people’s car. Cheap to buy and run, economical and reliable. Its hard to do so when CBU tax hurts car prices therefore in thr past 30 years we only saw luxury Peugoets sold here, similar to VW and Renault.

To make CKD requires volume and Malaysia didn’t justify that.
Now is the chance for Stellantis to do the right thing.

Skip import tax for all asean countries as well as export to Australia, NZ and India. Is it possible to see a proper family sedan below 90k in malaysia? You tell me.
