A Facebook user recently posted shocking dashcam footage showing an object crashing through his car’s windshield while driving along the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) yesterday.
In the first video, the recording car is seen passing several vehicles along the highway. Around the 28-second mark is when the scary encounter takes place, as the silver Proton Saga the driver was following “slingshots” an object that proceeds to fly and crash into his windscreen.
A subsequent video shows the extent of the damage, with the passenger side of the windscreen smashed and having a hole. The object, which looks to be part of a lorry’s leaf spring assembly, also appeared to make contact with the B-pillar and front passenger headrest. Fortunately, the driver was travelling alone; we shudder to think what would have happen if there was a passenger in the front.
Netizens commented that they too have encountered such a situation (here’s another that we reported one involving a metal pipe), suggesting that the victim submit a claim with the highway concessionaire, although there are some that said it was a futile process.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
This occurrence is what JPJ and the minister need to focus at instead of bidding car plate numbers and digital driving license.
He wont care. Doing proper TM job dont give him publicity. He prefers to show face at all events, medias, roadshows, kenduris, jamuans, launches, anything that has a camera crew he will be there.
if the driver were to overtake from the right, this wouldn’t have happened to him.
you do realize that piece of killer metal would still hit someone else besides this unfortunate dashcam owner?
The highway concession must have road maintenance including sweeping for loose materials on the road. We used to see plus rider on bike clean up loose impediments from Pg bridge and some highways
They busy 24/7 to collect suke super duper tolls charges only, touch n go memang macam kosong v fasts if pakai ini hiway,
Regarding our safety they not interested
Pls dnt wastes time and sue skve rite away ,our sympathy is with U
Who is going to take responsible to replace that Mazda’s windshield? Plus, the driver seems like an arse tryna overtake on the left lane
Blame it on Loke. He is in charge of all highways but he is NOT DOING HIS JOB!!!
If govt find no solutions, soon all will be wearing helmet while driving.
