Pothole complaints in the Federal Territories must be resolved within 12 hours starting from Q3 2025

As part of a “zero pothole policy,” complaints about potholes in the Federal Territories, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, must now be resolved within 12 hours instead of 24 hours previously. According to The Star, this initiative will start from the third quarter of this year.

“This is crucial for road user safety, especially due to Malaysia’s ASEAN chairmanship this year and Visit Malaysia Year next year,” said minister in the prime minister’s department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

As reported by Bernama, Zaliha said she was confident that response times could be further reduced through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and real-time monitoring to identify and address urban maintenance issues more efficiently.

The public can submit their pothole complaints via Adu@KL or complaint channels managed by KL Strike Force member agencies. Zaliha noted that most complaints come from high-traffic areas in the capital city and industrial zones.

On a separate matter, Zaliha said 5,000 AI-equipped CCTV cameras have been installed across Kuala Lumpur to enhance public safety as well as improve proactive monitoring for faster response to emergencies, traffic incidents and criminal activities. She also proposed the formation of a task force to review outdated laws and regulations, with the findings to be presented by end of Q2 2025.

Th KPI must also need to make sure the same pot hole didn’t miraculously reappear again after rain.

Yeah. So expecting alot more new layer of tarmac on top of the old? Non stop of bad patching works. Some of the repairs even worse the new tarmac are already came of after repaired.

  • The way they “tampal” jalan is on another level today. Like kids playing masak-masak. Just go around and watch everywhere. Then, they would mark it as done. After few hours, you can see it all came out.

speed to patch them is good. BUT what about holes that reappear after just a few days??? Please get our minister to drive on poorly repaired workjobs, like jalan Kelang Lama, or Jalan Puchong. The same holes keep reappearing. They tampal the road like simply done, no quality.

I just wish that the fix was done in a way that it was at the same level as the road instead of filling the pothole and creating a bump. This is damaging for cars and dangerous for motorists

I’m glad that Jalan Kelang Lama is mentioned. This stretch been complaining non stop to DBKL WA channel but somehow the tidak apa attitude is just another level.

Come on la, is the main road and your depot is Taman Desa is just along the road, takan cannot see the road condition?

Those roads in housing neighborhood I can accept because your team don’t passby daily but main road?

And by Q32025 within 12 hours? 24 hours and beyond also belum siap.

Regardless of state i do believe no council or state gomen had manage to fullfil 24hrs let alone 12hrs pothole repair…let alone sustain it.

Almost all roadworks are substandard and repair will take ages.

Lebuh SPA in Melaka is a major stretch of road used by commuters and tourist. Why no street lights, rough patches, stagnant deep water at certain stretch?
Oh wait, nobody has yet to die so no issue right
