The road transport department (JPJ) has said that Putra Heights gas pipeline fire victims that still need to replace related vehicle documents can do so at any JPJ office, free of charge, Bernama reports.
According to JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, those who have yet to replace their documents can visit any JPJ counter with details such as their identity card number and home address for verification, without the need for a police report.
“JPJ is waiving all fees for document replacements as part of our welfare initiative. This is intended to ease the burden of victims who lost their vehicle documents in the incident,” he said.
Aedy Fadly said that the documents eligible for free replacement include the vehicle ownership certificate (VOC, or geran), motor vehicle licence (road tax, or LKM), competent driving licence (CDL) and and four goods driving licences (GDL).
He added that the JPJ mobile counter that was set up at the Putra Heights Mosque temporary relief centre (PPS) from April 3 to 6 saw a total of 221 documents belonging to victims being replaced.
