2025 Honda P7 launched in China – sister EV to S7; up to 476 PS, 650 km CLTC EV range; priced from RM120k

The Honda P7 has been launched in China and is part of the Ye series of electric vehicles (EVs) announced last year. A product of the GAC Honda joint venture, the P7 has a sister model in the form of the S7 that was launched by Dongfeng Honda last month.

In terms of pricing, the P7 starts at 199,900 yuan (about RM120k) for the rear-wheel drive variant and is also offered with all-wheel drive for 249,900 yuan (RM150k). This mirrors the S7, which recently got a price cut of 60,000 yuan (RM36k) to be competitive. The P7 and S7 are both rivals to the Tesla Model Y.

Both variants feature an 89.8-kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, with the RWD variant rated at 272 PS (268 hp or 200 kW) and 420 Nm of torque. The AWD adds a front electric motor serving up 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 350 Nm for a total system output of 476 PS (469 hp or 350 kW) and 770 Nm.

In terms of range, the AWD offers up to 620 km following China’s CLTC standard, while the RWD provides up to 650 km. Again, these figures are identical to the S7, with both models also built on Honda’s Architecture W and measuring 4,750 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, 1,625 mm tall and with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm.

The P7 can be identified by its C-shaped lighting elements that are distinctive from the S7 with its ‘X’ and ‘H’ signatures. However, the interior is identical for both Ye EVs, including the 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.8-inch central infotainment touchscreen, 10.25-inch supporting touchscreen (for HVAC controls), a 41.9-inch augmented reality head-up display and 16-speaker Bose sound system. A comprehensive Honda Sensing ADAS suite is standard too.
