Rapid KL On-Demand vans now serving PJ Section 7 and 17, Puchong Utama/Prima, Taman Desa Baiduri

Rapid Bus has announced that its Rapid KL On-Demand vans will start serving new areas starting from tomorrow, April 17. This round, there are two new zones and one existing zone that has been expanded. The new zones are Terminal Puchong Utama – Puchong Prima, PJ Sentral – Section 7 and 17 and MRT Bandar Tun Hussein Onn – Taman Desa Baiduri.

The Puchong zone takes commuters to the Puchong Perdana LRT station, while the PJ zone replaces the previous T786B route (LRT Asia Jaya – MRT Phileo Damansara) with a wider coverage area and more stops. A total of 10 vans will be deployed for these three new zones. Operation hours are from 6am to 11.30 pm.

As usual, one will have to use either the Kummute, Trek Rides or Mobi apps to book a ride. Of the new zones, Puchong is under Trek Rides while PJ and Bandar Tun Hussein Onn are handled by Mobi. As usual, the fare is RM1 per ride and one can pay with My50/MyCity/Pas Famili, Touch n Go cars, MyRapid concession cards and the OKU Smile pass.

In January, transport minister Anthony Loke said that DRT (Demand Responsive Transit, the previous name for on-demand vans) is a hit and announced that Prasarana will be introducing 300 more vans for this first-mile, last-mile connectivity solution. As of March, the vans are operating in 37 zones in the Klang Valley and Penang, and on average, 4,753 people use the service daily.

    DRT is expanding well.

i think the article lacks the latest route map/zone coverage, and how it’s available at the Apps too.
