Mazda EZ-60 interior revealed with 26.45″ widescreen display; EV gets 600 km range, 1.5L REEV 1,000 km

The Mazda EZ-60 is only making its full debut at Auto Shanghai next week, but selected Chinese media have apparently already gotten a proper look at the new Changan-derived SUV. That includes Autohome, which has posted a thorough photo gallery that includes the hitherto unseen interior.

Carrying over the purple theme from the stunning exterior, the cabin is resplendent in the aubergine hue, covering the dashboard, seats, centre armrest and even the two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel. But by far the most striking part is the massive 26.45-inch widescreen display that extends into the passenger side. The display is not split into two as is typical, but is instead one single panel, according to Autohome.

The touchscreen has a 5K resolution and runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, piping music through 23 speakers with Dolby Atmos support. You also get a “100-inch” augmented-reality head-up display, two screens in the doors for the optional side-view cameras and a digital rear-view mirror which, combined with the digital instrument display of unspecified size, results in a total of six screens.

Elsewhere, you’ll find one-touch lie-flat front seats, along with heating and ventilation on both rows; if the purple upholstery is a bit too loud for your taste, there’s also a white option. The boot measures just 350 litres, although you can fold the rear seats to boost it to a respectable 2,036 litres. There’s also a decently-sized 126 litre front boot.

It’s also been revealed that the electric version will offer a range of over 600 km thanks to a 78 kWh battery. This is likely on China’s very lenient CLTC cycle, so expect the WLTP figure to be closer to the EZ-6/6e‘s 479 km with the smaller 68.8 kWh pack.

Just like its sedan sibling (and the closely related Deepal models), the EZ-60 will also be offered in range-extended form that uses a smaller 31.7 kWh battery and a 95 PS 1.5 litre petrol generator to boost total range to over 1,000 km. The EZ-60 will be powered by an electric motor with up to 258 PS (190 kW), according to a filing at China’s ministry of industry and information technology (MIIT)

Given that it’s an EV, I’m curious about the reasons to choose this Mazda over electric vehicles from BYD, Xpeng, and other brands. What are the key advantages?

Ev interior other than BMW and merc is all too blank and boring. No soul at all. Ipad here and there. Feel cold and unwelcoming. At least put more decor.
