In addition to showing what appears to the next-generation Jaecoo J7, an all-new Chery Tiggo 4 looks to be teased during a presentation by Zhang Guibing, president of Chery International, at Chery’s International Business Summit this year.

Seen under the Tiggo brand and ‘American Tough’ tagline is an SUV that looks very different from the current Tiggo 4, but sports the model’s name seen clearly near the C-pillar.

The depicted model, which may be an early design concept, looks to be boxier in shape and with more sharp angles compared to the current Tiggo 4. Other notable cues include more intricate lighting signatures and triangular side mirrors, while the excessively flared fenders are eye-catching.

The kink on the beltline near the rear doors is where you’ll find the ‘Tiggo 4’ wording, although this doesn’t continue to rise upwards as it does on the current Tiggo 4. One carryover from that model is the “floating roof” look thanks to the blacked-out pillars.

As with the “next J7,” the depicted model may not necessarily represent a next-generation Tiggo 4. The current model is due to make its debut in Malaysia next month with Chery’s hybrid technology dubbed Chery Super Hybrid (CSH).

The Tiggo 4 has been around for quite a while, debuting first as the Tiggo 5x in China in 2017 but renamed for export markets. It would get three facelifts, including in 2019, 2020 and 2024, with the latest one being dedicated to export markets where it is known as the Tiggo 4 or Tiggo Cross, which is coming to Malaysia.
