Royal Enfield Scram 440 delivery halted in India

Delivery of the recently launched Royal Enfield Scram 440 in India has been halted by the factory. Launched in November last year, the Scram 440 is the first of Royal Enfield’s 2025 motorcycle line-up to enter the India market.

Royal Enfield says the production halt is temporary, reports car&bike.com. The fault lies in the magneto shaft Woodruff key that holds the component rigid to the shaft while the engine is turning.

Reports indicate engines for select units fails to restart after being turned off. However, no information was disclosed as to which specific Scram 440 units, VIN numbers or engine numbers, or quantities thereof, this fault might affect.

In an official statement, the company said, “we are currently experiencing a delay in the deliveries of the Scram 440. Our teams are actively working to resolve the situation and expect to resume deliveries soon.” It is reported Royal Enfield is actively addressing the issue and will update bookings and deliveries in India once a resolution is implemented.
