KTM has announced that there will be signalling system upgrading works between Kepong and Salak Selatan stations from May 31 till June 2. As such, there will be no KTM Komuter service for some stations and delays of up to 50 minutes for everyone else, including the ETS.
The signalling system upgrading works will affect the Pulau Sebang – Batu Caves and Tanjung Malim – KL Sentral Komuter services. For this long weekend, the Tanjung Malim – KL Sentral train from Tg Malim will end at Kepong Sentral, while trains from Pelabuhan Klang will terminate at KL Sentral. The trains will head back to Tg Malim and Port Klang from the same stations.
Meanwhile trains coming from Batu Caves, Sg Gadut and Pulau Sebang will end at KL Sentral. Again, some stations in the works zone will have no service throughout the period. Riders can check schedules in the KTMB Mobile app and be alert for announcements in stations.
This signalling system job was originally scheduled for May 24-26, but was called off at the last minute. We’re guessing that it was to not put further pressure on the rail network in what was a busy week, where Kuala Lumpur hosted the ASEAN Summit. The new dates are over the weekend, so it would not disrupt the typical work commute.
