The Zeekr 9X will make its full debut on July 9 in China before going on sale in Q3 of this year, reports CarNewsChina. The brand’s flagship SUV, which we saw at Auto Shanghai 2025, will be presented at a technology showcase event on the day.
The 9X will be Zeekr’s first (plug-in) hybrid model, with reports out of China indicating the SUV will feature a 900-volt electrical architecture and a CATL-made Freevoy (Xiaoyao) battery pack that is good for 380 km of electric-only range. This battery is said to support 6C charging, although the energy capacity hasn’t been disclosed yet.
Power from the battery is used to power a pair of electric motors, with the one at the front rated at 394 PS (389 hp or 290 kW), while the rear unit serves up 503 PS (496 hp or 370 kW). There’s also a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that outputs 279 PS (275 hp or 205 kW) on its own, which is used to charge the battery or provide direct drive to all four wheels.
Other aspects of the powertrain include dual-chamber air suspension, a dual-valve continuous damping system as well as a 48-volt active anti-roll bar. The 9X will also come with the brand’s G-Pilot H9 ADAS suite powered by two Nvidia Drive Thor chips capable of 1,400 TOPS. The “brain” is linked to five LiDAR sensors, 13 cameras and three millimetre-wave radars to enable Level 3 autonomy.
As the flagship in the range, the 9X is massive and measures in at 5,239 mm long, 2,029 mm wide, 1,819 mm tall and with a wheelbase of 3,169 mm. The generous dimensions, coupled to the boxy, angled design of the exterior, makes for an SUV with quite a bit of road presence. The 9X is expected to retail for between 500,000 and 1 million yuan (about RM296k and RM591k) when it goes on sale.
