Unlike the 46th ASEAN Summit held in May, there will be no road closures in Kuala Lumpur for the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AFMM) and related meetings that will be held in the capital this July 8 to 11.
This was indicated by government spokesman and Minister of Communications Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, as reported by the New Straits Times.
“There will be no road closures for this event. However, for the 47th Asean Summit scheduled in October, more information will be provided as the date approaches,” he said.
During the 46th ASEAN Summit, a total of six highways and 25 major roads were closed or had traffic diverted at various periods between 8am to 8pm from May 23 to 28.
With the 47th ASEAN Summit set to be held again in Kuala Lumpur this October, expect a similar level of traffic control measures to be in place during the period.

why not do it at Putrajaya???
Do you know roads are not closing for Foreign Ministers summit? No road closures. Reasons are most Foreign Ministers likely staying with their ambassadors house in KL. All ASEAN Embassies are still located in KL.
