Entering the Malaysia underbone market is the 2025 Modenas Z15GT, priced at RM8,288 excluding road tax, insurance and registration. The Z15GT enters a very competitive motorcycle sector in Malaysia, in the 150 cc kapchai segment.
Primary competition for Z15GT comes from the Yamaha YZ15R, and the Honda RS-X Winner 150, as well as the Suzuki Raider R150 Fi. There are three colours offered – Graphite Grey, Nardo Grey, and Rosso Red – with deliveries of the Z15GT into Modenas and Kawasaki authorised dealer showrooms beginning October 27.
With the aim of selling 27,000 units of the Z15GT annually in Malaysia, Modenas also aims to tackle the export market between 2026 and 2030 in the Philippines, Greece, Türkiye, and Cambodia. Developed in-house in by a dedicated team of 31 Malaysian engineers, designers, and technicianscollaboration with Kawasaki Motors Corporation (KMC), eight Malaysian engineers trained with Kawasaki in Japan, while others underwent specialised engine design training in Austria.
Touted as Modenas’ most advanced motorcycle to-date, the Z15GT comes with a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill displacing 149.5 cc. Engine power is said to be 16.76 hp at 9,500 rpm, with 13.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, going to the rear wheel via six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
Braking for the Z15GT is done with single hydraulic discs front and rear, with single channel ABS acting on the front brake. Suspension uses conventional telescopic forks in front and preload-adjustable monoshock in the rear.
The Z15GT weighs in at 128 kg, with 5.7-litres of fuel in the tank, while seat height is set at 780 mm. Wheel sizing is 17-inches front and rear, shod with 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tyres.

Wow ABS at this price range. Yamahal and Hondak sh*tt*ng brix.
Like this also cannot afford..u go buy bicycle lah
he didnt say he cant afford, he said its better value for money than Y or H brands, did you even read properly
Dear Mohan sir,
Where is the shot from the back? Want to see the design of the rear lights.
How about the clutch feeling, is it as good as Y16zr?
For the best braking safety, you need both. High-quality tires provide maximum stopping power and control under normal conditions, while ABS protects you and maintains control when you need it most.
There are factors that lead many riders to use low-quality or worn-out tires, which can be dangerous. The situation is complex, with varying rider choices based on vehicle type, budget, and awareness of safety.
Export to Greece? This would require to match EURO 5+ standard (currently it matches EURO 4).
Hopefully it can repeat the success of the Dinamik in Greece (the Dinamik was more successful there than in it’s homeland).

Typo error “technicianscollaboration”. I realized most of the time Mohan’s article will have typo errors. Rarely can get it perfect the first time.
The name Modenas, as i understand is meant to be our native design and built small engine manufacturer. motorcycle is the biggest market for small engines. but small engines also used in portable power generator, grass cutter or mower, small agricultural machinery and other lawn maintenance equipment. the application is wide. However, Modenas management dont seems to see it this way and not able to execute the vision dr.M had for this venture. i hope they will be open to explore this market segment which currently Honda and Yamaha had ventured into and be successful
actually anothr important market segment u missed to mention is – Marine engine. japs manufacture a lot of boat engines
