O5 in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the O5 is due to receive its second facelift in Malaysia, bringing a sharper nose, ‘lightning’ tail lamps and a new interior. Until that arrives, the Malaysian range remains the sole 1.5 Turbo petrol model with a wet DCT and multilink rear suspension. An O5 Hybrid has also surfaced in Australia with a 1.5T powertrain, a 204 PS electric motor and claimed 20.4 km/l fuel consumption, but Malaysian availability is not confirmed.

Chery O5 buyer's guides & reviews
Verdict
The O5’s mechanical package is clear enough: 145 hp, a wet DCT and multilink rear suspension in a B-segment SUV. Its RM116,800 price puts it RM900 above the Honda HR-V and RM3,000 above the Nissan Kicks e-Power, while sitting RM728 below the MG S5. It is therefore not the budget choice in this class. The coming second facelift is the bigger story for buyers who can wait.
