Overview
The Honda HR-V is a B-segment SUV with five seats, a CVT or eCVT automatic and a mix of petrol and hybrid variants. It suits buyers who want a small SUV with a broad powertrain spread rather than just one drivetrain choice. Prices start from RM115,900 for the 1.5 S and run to RM143,900.
HR-V in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the Honda HR-V facelift carries on with the S, E, V and e:HEV RS range. The key update is on the upper variants: the V and e:HEV RS gain a 360-degree view camera with no change in price. The wider facelift changes remain: a wider grille, reprofiled front bumper and, on the RS, matrix projector LED headlamps with active cornering lamps.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the 1.5 E at RM130,900. The RM15,000 gap over the 1.5 S buys the stronger 179 hp petrol setup instead of the S variant’s 119 hp unit, while keeping the price below the V and RS. The 1.5 V at RM137,900 makes sense if you want the added 360-degree view camera. The e:HEV RS at RM143,900 is the one to get if you specifically want the hybrid/eCVT drivetrain.

Verdict
The HR-V facelift is not a dramatic reset, and Honda has largely left the shape alone. The changes are targeted rather than wholesale, with useful updates such as the 360-degree view camera on V and RS. Pricing places it well above Perodua’s cheaper B-segment SUVs, while sitting near models such as the Nissan Kicks e-Power and Aion Y Plus. The appeal is the wide variant spread, not bargain pricing.
