The CX-80 carries on into 2026 unchanged after its 2025 Malaysian launch. The range is simple: one 2.5G PHEV AWD High Plus variant, with a 2.5-litre plug-in hybrid powertrain, all-wheel drive, six seats and a 65 km NEDC electric range. The current Malaysian model follows the KLIMS 2024 preview, where the CX-80 was shown as Mazda’s new three-row SUV.

Verdict
The CX-80 is the pricier, newer Mazda three-row SUV, and the extra money over the CX-8 has to be justified by its plug-in hybrid drivetrain, captain seats and position as the CX-8/CX-9 successor. It also sits below listed executive SUV rivals such as the Audi Q8 e-tron, Volkswagen Touareg and Volvo XC90 on price. But it is still a big spend for a Mazda family SUV.
