Citroen C5 – Unmistakeably German Advertisement

New Citroen C5

Citroen’s Unmistakeably German ad campaign for the new second generation Citroen C5 by Euro RSCG highlights the “Teutonic” qualities of the new Citroen C5. It further strengthens the fact that the typical “German-ness” of a car is something very desirable. Even when the Ford Focus was launched, ad campaigns delivered the message “European styling, German technology.” The Citroen ad features a traditional Bavarian bar and grill, sections of the Autobahn, and the historic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

    That’s kinda amusing.

Well, I heard that Brookland will not bring this model to our shore. What a shame. This C5 looks way better than the new C-Class Merc or the Beemer any day. I think it’s cheaper to run too.

cant believe that citreon would market their C5 like this. I thought the french would be too proud to actually want to admit that they now “prefer” german qualities in their cars.

but then again, it just goes to show that the germans car makers remain the benchmark that most other car manufacturers aspire to be, and that now includes citreon by the look of it.

Problem with citroen in Malaysia, they are underpowered and more expensive than their current rivals.

I think citroen will do well with this model commercially. but i think it is sad that they are willing to forfeit their soul to achieve that. there no more of that trademark citroen weirdness to this model any more. but at least there’s still the c6 to carry the torch.

Like the Deux-cheveux aka 2CV and the DS(Deese), typical French cars but they are beautiful. Too old for my age though.

No, it should be quoted as:

    “European styling, German boringness”

Nice commercial, the car gets the point, but by doing so the car losses a lot of the wacky stuff that made it Citroen cars interesting. Old cars that is…

'german' campaign in terms of perceived class & quality only…but the french can deliver superb handling and ride quality for a lot less money than german cars…i used to drive the bx 19, my friend who rode with me on the car mentioned that the ride comfort feels like his beemer 5 series!

    CITROEN France

    Department for quality control

    Dear Sirs,

I have got your car Citroene C-5 break, HDi 2,0 , 80 kW, model 2002 bought in Slovenia. The vehicle is originally equipped. Indication No.:VF7DERHZB76226655

This vehicle has got a problem with rear disc brakes. As I mean this is construction failing. The free space between inside rear wheel ring dim.: 205/65 R15 H and brake housing is too small at new car, later the space becomes smaller – zero. This problem developing dangerously according the vehicle is in use longer, brakes became older

It may cause very dangerously situation when both parts get in contact and then rear wheels could blockade in drive.

What is your suggestion to solve this problem.

At your Citroen services in Slovenija I don’t get satisfied solutions to repair problem. ( exchange wheels with bigger 16 inch size or exchange rear disc brakes)

I believe you know how to deal with this.

I am looking forward to hear from you soon .

    Best regards,

    Ivan Pirc
