We already have some idea of how a high-performance version of the new Peugeot 308 might well look like, thanks to the brand’s Frankfurt 2013 debutant, the 308 R concept. The 308 R featured revised bumpers with much larger air intakes than the regular 308. It also sits 26 mm lower than the standard 308.
This might be our first look at the upcoming high-performance Peugeot 308 GTI, which will go against cars like the VW Golf GTI and the Ford Focus ST. Our European spy photographers sighted these Peugeot 308 mules on test. It looks like its wearing the same bumper and even alloy wheels as a regular 308, but there’s some disguise on the front bumper.
Things are slightly different at the rear. The rear bumper diffuser design seems to be a little different compared to the regular 308 – on a normal 308, the diffuser design on the bumper doesn’t have any exhaust pipe cutouts; on these test cars, there seems to be two cutouts in the diffuser.
The 308 R Concept used a 270 hp, 330 Nm version of PSA’s 1.6 litre Prince four-cylinder turbocharged engine, a similar tune as that found in the RCZ R. Will the production 308 GTI make that much power, or will it offer something closer to the 208 GTI‘s output?

What a turnaround! The endearing sportiness of the current-gen is completely shaved off! Oh dear……
Now it looks like the perfect English Gentltment’s car…. sigh….. I’ll miss the current-gen looks – the pre-facelift one, I mean.
the backside look so 90’s…same like proton SS
looks….fat??
probably due to the small headlamp
wow!!!!nice grille!!!
why no batik batik skin covering up the body??
I prefer this look rather than the ‘look at me, I am the fiercy 308!”
ermmm look promising
prince means depollution error and timing chain putus?
Despite its looks, Peugeots are known for the bad reliability issues and high cost of maintenance. Better think twice before getting this brand!
looks rather handsome
