Ford has announced that it will launch the Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost in Malaysia at the start of the second quarter. Seeing that Q2 2014 starts in April, the range-topping Fiesta should be just over a month or so away from launch.
The 125 PS/170 Nm Fiesta Ecoboost will be the range-topping facelifted Fiesta in Malaysia when it debuts, complementing the 1.5 Ti-VCT variant that was launched in September 2013. In the second half of this year, the Fiesta ST hot hatch, powered by a 182 PS/240 Nm 1.6 turbo, will take over the mantle as the top Fiesta in town. Both were previewed at KLIMS13.
Also confirmed to be coming in the second half of the year is the EcoSport compact SUV, but the first local Blue Oval launch of the year will be for the locally-assembled Transit van, which will debut next month. Read more about that one here.
New cars aside, Ford plans to further expand its dealership network to 50 locations and launch eight Quick Lane facilities by the end of 2014. Ford Quick Lane service centres are dedicated service operations equipped to handle routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, quickly.
So, that’s five new Nissans, five new Hondas, four new Fords and one major national car confirmed for 2014 so far, with plenty more fresh metal on the cards. Looks like it’s going to be a wheely fun year ahead!
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
I really hope fiesta st is not priced as high as the price seen at klims. if it is, no sales seeing 208 gti can be low price for it’s performance
Ford cars are not that great. You might as well drive Korean. They feel and drive the same.
dude, you are a joke… ford fiesta ST is one of the best driver s car although it s front wheel drive. please dont compare to korean car on feel and drive.
Korean cars wins on price and features but not on DRIVE….
Kia spectra win on DRIVE & handling.
Hey dude, ford chassis and engine are from Volvo …. Do u mean Kia spectra better than Volvo!!! Just for ur info….the first car on the road “FORD”
ford handling and comfort are the best. Bodo hang tuah ni
finally u r coming soon.
1.0Liter car but 2.0L car price…
Either MITI is crazy or Sime Darby happy to sell it that price…
it’s actually both
the world has changed. the inherent value of a car today is no longer tied to the size of its engine.
yeah, it’s tied to our freaking government tax
Any news on the manual Fiesta?
yeah! More driving adrenalin
120 PS per litre. Now that is impressive. Should be King of the segment. Wonder if Proton GSC can compete with the Blue Oval?
120 PS per liter?? My brain is damaged
I don’t understand what is wrong with that statement. The engine is stated to produce 125 ps with its 999cc ( 1 liter) engine.
Ecoboost is kind of turbocharge, that’s why~
Why cannot they remove the ‘tits’ off the bonnet?
You mean the small black things? That’s the windscreen washer. Good, important feature. I wouldn’t want a car that doesn’t have them.
Exposing the washer nozzles is a dated design.
If you observed enough on most newer cars, the washer nozzles are hidden neatly out of sight.
He probably meant they should be hidden behind the wipers. Proton also do with Preve and Suprima.
It is good news the engine of the year going to launched implement in Malaysia. It suppose to be good move but I doubt it will selling well. Simply because there are many players in the same B-segment hatchback market like Fiesta.
The competition is very intense nowadays and there are many factors to be considered before deciding the purchase. Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost no doubt is very tempting with its technology and proven fuel consumption, but the price may anytime kill down a lot of potential buyers. Unless this can price below 85k. Otherwise people got an option for Rio, Swift, Jazz or sedan car like Almera, City or Vios.
Hopefully Auto Connexion will price the Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost wisely and boost the sales up.
HAHHHAA. dont expect to below then 90k. Expected price is RM 99k.
Finally the Fiesta ST is coming. Can’t wait.
Yup, I’m waiting for the ST as well.
Will only buy if we get the Euro spec version with the more premium feeling interior instead of the Thai spec hard plastic dash.
ok, range topping of Fiesta Ecoboost is here but still not good enough to beat Honda and others
HAHAHAHAH. Engine of the year , paired with 2nd problematic DCT of the year. 6 speed dry dual clutch again? HAHAAHAHHAHA.
i own a fiesta. never had a problem with the gearbox. already 3 years…guanyinma probably gave u more problems
Just because you dont have problem in the 1st 3 yrs doesnt mean you wont have problem in the next 2 yrs. HAHAHAHAHA. They changed my clutch TWICE in 2 yrs. Total time my car in SC more then 1.5 mths.
i guess u just had bad luck in getting a bad car that’s all. that doesn’t mean that every car is bad. it only seems that way because only the people who got problematic cars complain online while the others who had no problems are enjoying their cars on the road. Too bad for you guan yin ma, bad luck in meeting monkey king mechanics.
Ford’s car is good, but the aftersales service like shit! Will never get another ford no matter how awesome their car is until they fix the damn problem!
Ok.. won’t buy..
2014:
3 Toyota, 5 Nissan, 5 Honda, 1 Perodua, 1 Proton.
4 Ford.
Based on ur experience with ford or just repeating what others said? Or maybe u just make up lies?
I own a Lynx RS and a Fiesta. If your warranty is already void/expired, stay away from official Ford/SDAC’s service centres. They don’t know how to handle their own cars. Car will sit there for months waiting for major spareparts.
If you wanna own a Ford, get ready to:
-learn everything abt your car and how to DIY everything
-learn how to pinpoint faults in your car
-go to specialist
-spend energy and time
-have some headache
Same thing happen to Hyundai, your car will sit there for weeks waiting for major parts from Korea, unless your select Ah Chong Workshop to repair.
100k.. no less i supposed..
thats right, it has been mentioned before. If price too low then nobody will buy fiesta 1.5 . Expected price is rm95k and above
useless junk fiesta, small shitbox car. Jazz/Fit type r will smoke this tiny shit.LOL.
after own the car for half year or a year..
new fiesta has launched.
This car straight away becomes old model.
*this model started at 2008.
Already has about 6 years old…
i just bought a fiesta 1.5L is such a nice car i test drive few car the most boring car is Kia RIO
I will like to see you cry when your fiesta is in for repair with autoconnexion. Parts price for ford is never cheap as compare to local, jap or kimchi.
All new cars are nice initially, this include Proton cars, however you will start feeling frustrated with certain make a few years down the road.
I want Ford Fusion 1.0 Ecoboost, if cannot launch here then can bring Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost?
How can malaysian afford to buy new cars. Already struggling with high living costs.
I think they just not buy a new a car but with trade in old car and try to got mthly installment about same as old car. At the end of day, their mthly expenses about same too.
May be they should learn English.
Your theory is not so correct, prices of basic food items have increased and will keep increasing, they will find it harder and harder to service their loans if they assume prices of all goods will be stable for the next 7-9 years or they will earn ‘High Income’ by 2020 as foreseen by TDM.
The amount of new cars sold keep increasing year to year. And that’s not even taking recond cars into account. Malaysians loves their cars and can’t live without them.
Airbags count? current fiesta a big disappointment.
Auto Connexion don’t be too greedy! Else no matter how good is your product/car – Sales won’t hit! So hope your car price will be reasonable : Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost below RM85K / EcoSport compact SUV below RM95K. That surely U going hit local market ! Listen to consumer …
The amount of time this car takes to get here… We could see a new Fiesta roughly 6 months after it gets launched here. Ridiculous.
finally the mighty ST is coming to the town! hope it will be cheap though
Now let’s hope the Mustang makes a galloping appearance too!
Another 3 Cylinders car coming to compete with Perodua an Mitsubishi. So the price should be near to the Mitsubishi Attrage or Mirage or else Ford can ‘ta pau’ this new car. Malaysian buyers won’t bite if this car is price beyond RM 60K.
Is peugeot 208 a better buy?
Does anyone have connection in Ford to know the price? if it’s price right I might go for 1.0 ecoboost. got a lot of goo review my motor enthusiast website and and blogs. Still got some drawback nonetheless. But hey, 1.0? I go tno complain, some more fuel economy should be phenomenal.
yeah spare parts is quite expensive, I own a Aprilia 125 last time. Just because it is made in Italy, even a 125cc bike cost me alot to repair. I men a lot…but hey, if you take care of it. At least it last longer. If it’s more expensive than Suprima? i might go for Suprima, considering I can repair at any workshop and SC is almost everywhere.
y no one complain about junk POLO alot of problem small also n much expensive
but do you guy survey even is 1.0 3 cylinder is produce more powerful than POLO TSI .. and POLO TSI is cost RM 113k ++ … u all damm weird la maybe those are VW fans boy
FORD, SDAC make sure u settle your after sales service quality and efficiency first!!!!!! when are the spareparts that fixing my new Fiesta are ready? It is being dragging me for 2~3 months for the Silly Steering Knocking sounds…
