Last week, UMW Toyota Motor announced that the Toyota Hilux 2.4G Limited Edition was officially on sale. We’ve now got a full gallery of the accessorised pick-up truck variant – which is based on the Hilux 2.4G AT – in order to highlight the new additions.

Available only in Super White II, the LE gets a smattering of contrasting exterior kit, including a graphic package that consists of black stripes on the bonnet, tailgate and flanks, as well as a black roof and carbon fibre effect stickers on the B-pillars.

The wing mirrors are also black, while the grille has been painted in a gloss metallic grey. Also fitted is a bumper guard, bonnet garnishes, head- and tail light covers and fog light surrounds – also coated in the dark grey hue – as well as black fender extensions. Lastly, the 17-inch alloy wheels have been painted grey.

No changes to the interior, so you get the standard 2.4G AT interior with features such as keyless entry, push-button start, Premium Security & Solar Film tint, auto lights and wipers, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, leather upholstery, a digital video recorder, a 6.1-inch touchscreen DVD infotainment system, a reverse camera, a digital video recorder and six speakers.

The engine has also been carried over, so under the bonnet sits a a 2.4 litre 2GD-FTV turbodiesel engine producing 150 PS at 3,400 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,600 rpm and 2,000 rpm. A six-speed automatic transmission sends power to a part-time four-wheel drive system. Safety-wise, the Limited Edition gets three airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, stability control and ISOFIX rear child seat anchors.

    • I just got my new Hilux 2.8 and it is amazing. Powerful enough and low servicing cost (about RM300 each time) compared to my 2014 Ranger 3.2 (about RM700+ each time), so in this case UMW is better than Sime Darby.

Hilux 2.8 is with 7 airbags, VSC and LED headlights. Full spec! It is the LEXUS of pick up trucks. No regrets! Go try one and then judge.

Low servicing cost? Hilux is the only one in the country with a service interval of 5k km. All other brands’ service intervals are at least 10k km….some even 20k

So if servicing interval is every 5,000 klm, then yr serving cost compared to other vehicles with an interval of 10,000 will be $600!

So syiok sendiri with limited edition gimmick, no wonder most hilux end up stolen and shipped to batam. Never think about security.

  • is it value for money or navara is better bargain

    • Navara no 7 airbags. Navara old design 2.5 is powerful but noisy and unrefined compared to new Hilux 2.8. Also, Navara sound insulation is bad. Hilux is much more smooth and refined. I tried both and got the Hilux 2.8.

  • Hi UMW toyota, if you put in all the safety feature there, your car will sell again.

If you just keep on put in those plastic, deco, chrome and all other “sporty looking” things in your car and think these are awesome as well as needed by potential buyers.

    Good luck to you.

Still manual aircond? Just 3 airbags? Anyone knows what are the standard spec in Thailand, Singapore or Japan? Lets compare how the UMW plays dirty.

Toyota, come on, if you want to make it a limited edition, why only 3 airbags?

    • why questioning the lack of airbags when it doest even have a gear knob xD. http://paultan.org/2017/02/20/gallery-toyota-hilux-2-4g-limited-edition-up-close/toyota_hilux_limitedg_int-10/

Mercedes these days doesnt have gear knob. Just a lever mounted beside the steering. I still believe UMW plays dirty. Remember vios b4? No traction cntrl, 2 airbags. Lets see city. 6 airbags and tc. No wonder honda is on top of toyota (umw). No wonder demands on grey import toyotas increases. UMW have the vellfire for poor people (cvt) @ rm350k. Alphard for rich (6 speed AT)(dont remember the price but it is higher than vellfire). Its clear.

Added value and it adds in to the retail price. Why not also offer it with 3rd party companies to add accessories? Ironman, ARB, etc etc. Change the suspension settings, tyres, wheels and slap another rm10,000. That’s what Nissan has done with the Navara Ironman.
