Last month, McLaren announced it would be introducing two new Ultimate Series models, which will join the P1 and P1 GTR in the upper echelons of the company’s product line-up. The British carmaker has now confirmed it will reveal the first of the two models on December 10.
Aside from an official date, we also get to see another teaser of the car that is codenamed P15. The image shows us a slender taillight sandwiched by a slatted vent above it, and a mesh vent beneath. McLaren promises a brutal exterior design, and with the triple-pipe exhaust from an earlier teaser, it should add up to quite a sight.
The P15 is the third of 15 new models or derivatives that McLaren will introduce by the end of 2022, under the company’s Track22 business plan. It will be delivered ahead of a second future Ultimate Series model codenamed BP23, which is being touted as a “Hyper-GT.”
The car will reportedly be built around McLaren’s Monocage II carbon-fibre tub, with a weight of less than 1,300 kg to ensure a power-to-weight ratio that eclipses that of the P1. An enhanced version of the M840T 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 from the 720S will likely provide propulsion, with an output that exceeds P1’s M838T, sans electrification.
