Since 1991, the team from Hennessey Performance (HPE) has been churning out modified vehicles which offer a lot more power than you’ll ever need. The company recently completed its 10,000th tuned vehicle and to celebrate this milestone, it is presenting the limited edition 2019 Hennessey Heritage Edition Mustang.
Inspired by the Ford GT Heritage Edition, this Hennessey special is only available with a Race Red paintjob that is accompanied by white livery graphics. Only 19 examples will be offered, and each has a starting price of USD89,950 (RM367,220).
For the money, you’ll get a run-of-the-mill Ford GT with a 5.0 litre naturally-aspirated Coyote V8 engine that makes 460 hp and 570 Nm of torque. From there, the HPE team will add on a 3.0 litre supercharger, air-to-water intercooler, upgraded fuel pump and injectors, a high-flow air intake and a catback stainless steel exhaust system.
The end result is an engine that now makes 808 hp and 918 Nm, which is considerably more than stock. According to the company, the Heritage Edition Mustang will complete the 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) sprint in just 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of over 322 km/h. In a drag race, it will take less than 10.7 seconds to run the quarter mile (0.4 km) at an end speed of 212 km/h.
Handling improvement include Brembo brakes (15.1 inch disc rotors with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers), Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres as well as a run on a chassis dyno calibration machine. Each car is also subjected to 322 km worth of testing before it is delivered.
Does it have visual impact? I mean, just look at it. Aside from the white livery graphics, there’s also a carbon-fibre exterior package that includes a front splitter, side sills and a rear spoiler with gurney lip. The 20-inch nine-spoke alloy wheels, along with lowered suspension, provide an attractive stance as well. Interior changes are comparatively minor, with embroidered headrests and a serial numbered dash plaque (one can also be found in the engine bay).
