Limited edition Ford Fiesta S1600 revealed in the UK

Ford has announced a sportier variant of the Fiesta supermini for the UK market. Called the S1600 it is inspired by the previous Fiesta Zetec S and is offered with two engine options from both ends of the fuel spectrum.

The petrol unit is a 120 PS 1.6 litre Ti-VCT Duratec while the diesel front is made up by a 95 PS 1.6 litre Duratorq TDCi. These engines can be tuned up further via Mountune, Ford’s performance tuning partner although the press release did not mention anything about potential power figures.

The Fiesta S1600 can be treated to either Frozen White with blue stripes or Performance Blue with white stripes. There is a body kit that includes a unique front bumper with flared lower valence panel, extended side skirts, large rear spoiler and a rear diffuser. The petrol model features 17 inch alloys while the diesel unit gets 16 inch wheels.

Inside you will find heated sports seats with side airbags, leather steering wheel, and hand brake cover and gear knob along with Motorsport-branded floor mats and scuff plates.

As stated in the title the S1600 will be based on a limited production run where only 650 units will be made available. Each is priced at £16,665 OTR. More images can be found after the jump.

Any news of them bringing the diesel tdci Smax?…will be more practical due to its high low rpm torque & low FC

Yeah, I’m not too fond of those rims. Metallic ones would probably look better.

A detailed Fiesta review when it hits local shores would be nice. *coughhintcough*

Sometimes American/European is better than Japanese/Korean cars. But in Malaysia.. The Japanese propaganda “Asian For The Asian” still bloom in their heart conscious or not. Japanese car are more reliable cos their spare part more easily to fine, and a lot of service centre. How reliable, durability and how sweet design of American/European cars..Malaysian still prefer to Japanese cars no matter how ugly the car is.. Just looked at all new Honda Freed… i’m believe there are still sell well no matter how ugly and freak the price is. How many of us is dare to get the all new fiesta soon?

    Just my 2 cent.

Honda freed might be urgly but it’s compromised by its practicality.

And not to mention, ppl are simply brand concious. Try look at the 2nd hand prices of some Honda cars and how the price still holds up. Same goes to certain Toyota models.

tested (not driven) fiesta at the curve & head down to Ford HQ. interior I can say Mazda 2 is more cheeky. But on the 2nd taught, 6 speed auto dual clutch.

Woo hoo! Gotta spend RM 900+ per month for this baby- Who cares!

Like drive through KLCC shopping centre chased by a Lambo or Ferrari…..and then an amphibious assault with the naval force in Port Dickson… hahaha…..Now that would be interesting……
Perhaps you can add some local elements to it – driving through Chow Kit or Petaling Street and then end up at a stall having teh tarik and roti canai… :)
