The motor show cascade this week continues – Bangkok and NYC are now joined by the Seoul Motor Show, which kicks off today. We’ve got a live feed of photos coming in, starting with this one, a turbocharged version of the Renault Samsung SM5 called the XE TCE.

The third-gen Samsung SM5 – which the Renault Latitude is based on – has been around since 2009, but the L43 was given a facelift last year, with new front bumper, grille and headlamps with LED DRLs part of the nip and tuck job. Engine options were a couple of Nissan mills, a 2.0 litre and 2.5 litre V6.

Now, the XE TCE brings turbocharging into the equation. The 1.6 litre MR190DDT found in it is essentially the Nissan MR16DDT direct injection gasoline turbo, which also equips the Nissan Juke, with identical 190 PS at 6,000 rpm and 240 Nm at 2,000 rpm output numbers to boot.

The unit is paired to a DCT gearbox. Not much else in terms of information, save that it tips the scales at 1,525 kg and rides on 18-inch wheels and 225/45 series rubbers.
