The Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne GTS have finally been nipped and tucked, four months after the rest of the facelifted range was unveiled. Both Stuttgart SUV variants are set to make their debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a couple of weeks.
Let’s start with the harder-edged model first – as before, the GTS gets the Turbo‘s front maw, more aggressive rear bumper, side sills and wheel arch extensions (all body coloured), a body coloured rear spoiler, smoked tail lights, black 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels and black highlights around the exterior. New to the variant is black “GTS” script on the lower front doors.
Inside, the GTS gets eight-way power-adjustable leather and Alcantara sport seats with “GTS” lettering as well as a smattering of Alcantara upholstery. Under the skin, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the Turbo’s larger brakes are fitted as standard, and the suspension has been dropped by 24 mm (20 on the optional air suspension). Again, same as on the pre-facelifted model.
What has changed is the powertrain – the old petrol-swilling 4.8 litre naturally-aspirated V8 has been replaced by a smaller 3.6 litre twin-turbo V6. Despite two less cylinders, maximum power has actually swelled by 20 hp to 440 hp, while torque has risen by 85 Nm to an astounding 600 Nm. As with the rest of the range, the GTS is fitted with an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic with paddle shifters.
The increased performance contribute to a 0-100 km/h figure of just 5.2 seconds (or 5.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono pack) – 0.5 seconds quicker than before – while top speed remains at 261 km/h. More impressive, however, are the fuel savings brought about by the smaller engine, consuming up to 0.9 litres per 100 km less than before.
Porsche also took the opportunity to unveil the base model Cayenne, featuring the same 300 hp 3.6 litre naturally-aspirated V6 as before. Despite using the same machinery, it goes from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds (7.6 seconds with Sport Chrono), 0.1 seconds faster than before when equipped with the eight-speed auto that is now standard. Also now standard fare is are bi-xenon headlights, a Macan-esque multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters and a powered tailgate.

Awesome…I’ve always liked to have one of these giant SUV’s as my main ride due to its height and speed…now if only I had the cash to get one. Work harder in Bolehland or work smarter elsewhere…?
If you like kzm, can get scholarships, contracts and still use tongkat, then better work in Bolehland. Gagal pun can still go into university.
Mahathir use Porsche. His sons all use Porsche. But Mahathir ask us to tighten our belts, eat kangkung and use Proton.
M didn’t ask us to eat kangkung, N is the one who asked us to eat kangkung.
Mahathir say yes agreed with you.
Porsche Cayenne is US$49,000. That is RM150,000. At that price, Porsche in the US is already making a margin and profit.
So, Sime Darby in Malaysia will get the Porsche much cheaper straight from Stuttgart as it is a country dealership. The Principal will give cheaper to their country dealership. Maybe US$35,000 (RM105,000).
Our tax max out at RM130%
In Malaysia, the car becomes Rm600,000.
Why are Malasyians always cheated?
You have to thank proton for this
Current model rear headlight is much better
Mahathir Mohamad have this car.
