As previously confirmed, the 2015 New York International Auto Show will see the debut of both the production Scion iM as well as a new sedan model – now called the Scion iA – and Toyota’s youth-oriented American brand has now released teaser images of the new cars.
It appears the iM will take after the recently-facelifted Toyota Auris, rather than the pre-facelifted model the concept shown at Los Angeles last year was based on. Judging from the image, it will feature a number of small tweaks over its European cousin – the grille, for instance, receives a gloss black upper “wing” instead of the chrome trim piece on the Auris, while a honeycomb mesh replaces the previous slats.
The iA is more intriguing – it looks familiar, doesn’t it? Overtly aggressive front fascia aside, the shape of the bonnet, fenders and the upper part of the headlights matches that of the Mazda 2 Sedan, all but confirming rumours that the new sedan is a rebadged version of the latter. If that is true, then this car should be built at Mazda’s new plant in Salamanca, Mexico.
As for the iM, Scion has previously hinted at a sticker price of under US$20,000 (RM73,400) to entice younger customers. More details will be released when both cars are unveiled on the eve of NYIAS, on March 31.

Have to park 500m away (and deliberately arriving late) so that no family members see me drive a kimchi. But somehow, someone saw and the news got spread to others. So, toward the end of reunion dinner, I got funny looks from relatives.
Then the old man mentioned my cousin got promoted and now bought an Accord for his wife. He gets a Lexus as company car.
I am so paiseh that excused myself to leave early by giving excuse that I have stomach upset.
So, curi curi leave and never felt so embarressed in my life.
