ABT Audi S3 gets 400 PS, more power than the RS3

ABT-S3-10

German tuning specialists, ABT Sportsline has just given the Audi S3 Sedan more power than the range-topping RS3. Here, the 2.0 litre TFSI turbocharged mill has been tweaked to make 400 PS as opposed to 300 PS in the S3’s standard form, while torque has been increased from 380 Nm to 480 Nm.

The top-end RS3 on the other hand has a slightly bigger 2.5 litre TFSI turbo five-cylinder plant that makes 367 PS and 465 Nm of torque. This is the second Audi to receive a tune-up after the ABT Audi TTS, which also has the same output numbers.

In summary, the increase in power and torque is attributed to a tweaked ECU, coupled with an ABT exhaust system consisting of pre-pipes and a sports catalytic converter. The 400 PS/480 Nm form is the highest state of tune available, and is packaged as the ABT Power S Kit. A less powerful kit can also be had in the form of the ABT Power package, which offers 370 PS and 460 Nm instead.

The full ABT package also comes with performance sway bars for the front and rear axles, and as an additional option, the ABT Audi S3 can also be decked out with a new front grille, fender inserts, rear skirt, black chrome-plated exhaust tips and 20-inch wheels. Now who needs to wait for the Volkswagen Golf R400?
