Touch ‘n Go, PLUSMiles card available at border crossing – Bukit Kayu Hitam toll to go cashless Sept 9

Toll

PLUS Malaysia has announced that it will place personnel at the Bukit Kayu Hitam toll plaza to sell Touch ‘n Go and PLUSMiles card as well as SmartTAG devices prior to adoption of cashless transactions at multiple toll plazas nationwide. Come September 9, a total of 12 toll plazas will switch to the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system that requires the use of a SmartTAG device, Touch ‘n Go or PLUSMiles card.

“We are also selling the cards in Thailand and have been creating awareness of the ETC system through announcements over there. The Thai authorities have also been notified on our ETC move in Bukit Kayu Hitam,” said Mohammad Fuad Khusairi, COO of PLUS Malaysia, in a report by The Star.

PLUS is currently selling PLUSMiles cards with a pre-loaded value of RM5 for RM5 until December 31 and SmartTAG devices at RM96 per unit inclusive of GST until September 30. The concessionaire has, reportedly, sold over 5,000 Touch ‘n Go cards since Monday.

The list of toll plazas set to adopt the ETC system include the Penang Bridge, SMART Highway, Dato Keramat plaza on the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway, Air Panas, Sentul Pasar and Batu plazas on the DUKE Expressway, Jitra and Bukit Kayu Hitam on the Nouth-South Expressway, Lunas and Kubang Semang on the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway and Gombak and Bentong plazas on the KL-Karak Highway.

i have noticed recently at almost all tolls , they only open 2 manual counters and u get some rediculous long lines , i get that they want to encourage users to use touch n go but dont do it in a coward manner….

What do you mean by coward manner? All major highways have implemented TnG for a long time.

What I don’t understand is the ignorance of Malaysians to use TnG. Even MyKad have Tng now. Update your MyKad to 80k chips, reload it at 7eleven or any convenience store with sticker on it, and voila, Tng with you all the time.

I mean, you know you have to go through tolls for balik kampung for every year during festive seasons (raya, chinese new year, deepavali, cuti sekolah etc), so why don’t simplify your life by using TnG or SmartTag instead of queing like 10km to pay with cash. I really don’t understand Malaysian mentality really. You save time and hassle really.

ya im using too , bt the horrible long Q lines are not reasonable…there are better ways to force ppl use their TNG rather than squeeze hundreds of cars through ONLY 2 lanes

I realize that most of left lane are being utilize as reload lane, thus the risk we can’t avoid is long que. worst case if peak hours.

As for me(just sharing), i do reload my TnG at TnG Spot to avoid long Q at toll plaza.

When you look into something positively, for sure you will get the way.

As for me, cashless implementation is a good things.
