Haval Malaysia (formerly Great Wall Malaysia) has launched a new addition to its Haval M4 line-up (formerly known as the Great Wall M4) today – the Haval M4 Elite. Previously, it was displayed at the NST-MAI ASEAN Auto Show last year.
The new M4 Elite joins the B-segment SUV’s revamped range, which now starts with the Comfort (Standard has been dropped), priced at RM53,008 (MT), and RM60,017.69 (AT). The Premium variant is retained here as well, priced at RM59,839 (MT) and RM65,852.33 (AT). All prices here are on-the-road without insurance, and has been revised for 2016.
Regardless of variant choice, all are fitted with a 1.5 litre naturally-aspirated VVT MPI four-cylinder petrol engine providing 105 hp at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm at 4,200 rpm. While all M4s are front-wheel drive, and come with the option of a five-speed manual or six-speed AMT gearbox, the M4 Elite is only offered with the latter.
With no change to the powertrain, the majority of the changes are visual by nature. Up front, the M4 Elite gets new halogen projector headlights with LED positioning lamps (additional LED DRLs can be found near the fog lamps).
The new headlights flank a new front grille featuring a hexagonal mesh design that has shades of the Range Rover Evoque. Moving on, the car gains a multi-spoke, two-tone 16-inch alloy wheels .
Other exterior changes include a matte black vinyl wrap for the car’s roof and an ‘Elite’ badge located just below the ‘M4’ emblem on the rear liftgate. Inside, the M4 retains its familiar layout and kit of the Premium variant, with the only additions being a video recorder located near the rear view mirror, centre arm rest, and new leather seats.
Standard equipment here include cruise control, a touchscreen navigation system with DVD player and Bluetooth connectivity, an around-view monitor, steering wheel audio controls and a rear-view camera with integrated SmartTAG reader.
The M4 Elite is pretty much status quo when it comes to its safety suite as well, but with the addition of an around view monitor. Its standard safety kit is comprised of dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESP, traction control and Hill Start Assist.
The Haval M4 Elite is priced at RM72,659.41 (on-the-road without insurance), and comes with a seven-year, unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty as well (applicable for all M4 variants). As an added bonus, the company is offering buyers an insurance rebate or service voucher up to 25,000 km during the M4 Elite’s three-day launch promotion (February 26-28).
Colour options remain as before – white, silver, black, blue, red and orange, with customised car wraps available upon request. For more info and a detailed breakdown of the Haval M4 line-up, head on over to Carbase.my, where every variant is listed in full.
In addition to the launch of the M4 Elite, local Haval Motors manufacturer, GO Auto, also announced that by the year 2017, it expects to increase the number of dealers nationwide to 42. Currently, GO Auto has 21 dealers nationwide, consisting of two branches and 19 3S centres.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
73k for Chinese car.. that a bullshit,
Any EEV incentive granted?
Think thrice.
Better sell our Proton to Great Wall or Haval. At least, they can inject some brains into Proton and turn the company around.
Geely bought Proton. they will get great ideas to Proton and produce a much better car.
People rather buy the Haval than Proton. Don’t play play with Proton quality.
haval M4 indeed get EEV status…read old article
Far better than a fake overpriced Accord.
r u so sure?
Mesti ko keje JPJ bahagian test kete baru.
Kalau tak macamana bley tau mana kereta bagus yang padan dengan harga.
Kalau tak keje JPJ, mmg komen pakai tumit kematu.
Bukannya keje JPJ tapi pernah keje pasang keta China dan sedang pakai keta P1 Gen2.
Boleh kata quality kete China masih jauh dari P1. Nampak cantek je tapi u cuba ikat bolt kat keta China. Tambah 10Nm lagi, bolt akan patah. Fruss gile tu kalau nak remove bolt thread yang patah!
Waah.. this could be the MyVi beater!
6 speed auto, eat this Perodua!
Now Haval, give me this car in beige…
Perodua cars got no ABS, no VSC, and few airbags. According to Perodua, Malaysian lives are like nyawa tikus. No meaning.
for a rare brand, better lower the initial price even lot of goodies given, should be not exceed than rm60k to attract buyer first
if 55k, ask for 50k. if 50k, ask 45k. dont want to buy, silent silent la
sorry bro…already forget that you still butthurt since your 9 years full loan application to buy this car being harshly rejected
Kalau duit cukup, beli. Kalau tak de, cari kereta model lain. So far worth the money. I’m one of the 1st gen user.
wow, quite nice for RM 53k SUV with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESP, traction control and Hill Start Assist. It’s Cheaper thn Exora.. But is Malaysian willing to Buy it?
Yes why not.
is not exactly a SUV, the car is sized like a Myvi or somewhat smaller with higher ground clearance
its not actually a SUV, its only the size like a myvi or somewhat smaller with higher ground clearance
I think TCS HSA and ESP is only available on the 73k variant…
Mine is the 55k Comfort AMT variant (1st gen) which also comes with TCS, HSA and ESP albeit without surround camera, GPS & smart Tag. Those safety items are standard across all variants methinks.
So far, how satisfied are you with the car?
Should not compare with Exora as it is from a different segment….it is smaller than Exora ..
Impressive warrenty…. And thats it!
for those negative about the brand, please see the spec and compare it to OUR national brand at basic spec. then spill your bean
I strongly suggest that all test drive this car. its is far better than other small SUVs at budget range. I tested the Automatic model last week. smooth and very well built. compare to harsh and noisy Suprima or Exora interior this car is a winner. also engine a Toyota so anther plus.
Ive tested a manual n an auto. Manual was better n even the SA agreed auto is a bit sluggish. U said smooth? N compared to suprima n exora… Why?? Not even related
You test a SUV and compare with sedan and compact mpv?
Can you compare apple with orange? Come on, please grow up azmi… pls..
Its more of a crossover hatch. Not an SUV. Try to imagine a jacked up Myvi. But with a little bit smaller interior (wheelbase is less than 2.4m, shorter than the Myvi). Sat in the car & felt surprised that the interior plastics & built quality is of good quality. Not quite as solid as Jap CBUs, but more like lovally assembled Jap CKDs.
Toyota engine? Sadly, no. It is a clone version of the Vios engine. “often copied never equaled”
Beware of the AMT gearbox in the next coming few years.
Is it bigger than alza
Better than Proton Iriz Active.
GoAuto said they planned to export the M4… did they ? There’s no way they’ll survive in Malaysia alone, they must somehow follow Inokom’s example and export to Thailand at least. Recently, SAIC MG built an assembly plant in Thailand, it makes the MG3, a cheap, well-equipped, but otherwise incompetent and dated model… and yet, it has sold surprisingly well. Who knows, Great Wall/ Haval might be able to reproduce MG’s success… but first, they must get through Thailand’s new CO2 tax system… 150g/km or less.
Tata > Proton. Enough said brother macha.
I have just got transferred to china to work recently. This is a great car. Trust me, those local chinese cars especially the electric cars are very good in quality. Those chinese fella really stepped up their game and soon will take over the world car market. Look at Faraday (in the making). No more the previous chryy QQ quality anymore.
I was told one chinese electric car company gives whole life warranty for the battery and replace it FOC if the battery fails even after 20-30 years. Imagine that
for me it’s a nice looking car..but just to over-kits..looks ricer..
I google for part that gearbox price rm13k .hehe
Important that it has a vios Toyota engine. so its assembeled in China, Remember Toyota engine excepted as best in the world
if this car break down,I’ll just leave it at the road side
