The covers are set to go off the Ford Fiesta ST200 in Geneva. The range-topping B299 Fiestareported earlier this month to be on the cards for a debut at the Swiss show – arrives on the scene bearing 10% more power and 20% more torque than the current Fiesta ST.

Revisions to the 1.6 litre EcoBoost unit’s calibration has hiked output to 200 PS and 290 Nm (with an additional 15 PS and 30 Nm of torque for up to 20 seconds using transient overboost), a bump from the 182 PS and 240 Nm available in the base ST. Performance figures include a 6.7 second 0-100 km/h sprint time and 230 km/h top speed.

The ST200 gets an exclusive Storm Grey exterior colour and unique 17-inch machined matte black alloy wheels, and as standard will come equipped with red painted brake callipers (which is an add-on option in the base configuration).

Not much change to the interior, with partial leather Charcoal Recaro front seats and contrasting silver stitching as well as silver detailing on the seatbelts to be found. The variant also features illuminated scuff plates and comes with a ST200 badge plate on the centre console.

Some mechanical changes are also to be found. The ST200 gets a 4.06 ratio final drive, which is shortened from the 3.82 in the standard Fiesta ST – the automaker says this further enhances in-gear acceleration for improved drivability and an even more fun-to-drive experience.

Production of the Fiesta ST200 begins in June, with first deliveries to customers soon after – its arrival will make it the most powerful ex-factory Fiesta ST, its specifications sitting it between the standard ST and the 215 PS and 320 Nm seen in the car’s power-boosted Mountune form.
