The Ford Falcon XR6 Sprint and XR8 Sprint now see more power added on. As a refresher, the Aussie-built Falcon, now in its seventh-generation, will be the final chapter of the car and its Australian production.
In the Sprint editions, they come complete with a new front fog lamp surround and a vented bumper, a stripe decal on the side, “Sprint” badges at the rear and mudguards, “Sprint” scuff plates, black headlamp bezels, body-coloured deck-lid Appliqué and a black rear deck spoiler.
Other items include numbered build plates for individual models that can be found on the engine. Also, there are 19-inch black alloy wheels and six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo brakes in gold. The XR8 Sprint gets an additional silhouette black painted roof and black wing mirrors.
Meanwhile, the interior comes fitted with a Sprint seat package with leather or lux suede trim, an electro-chromatic mirror, dual-zone climate control and high-series audio along with SYNC 2 with satnav and Bluetooth 2 connectivity. Also, there’s a gauge cluster with a “Sprint” logo, while the manual shifter for the XR8 gets a “Sprint” label.
As for the uprated power figures, the XR6 Sprint sees its turbocharged 4.0 litre inline-six engine pushing out 435 hp and 576 Nm of torque, with 496 hp and 650 Nm available on Overboost. The XR8’s supercharged 5.0 litre V8 now makes 462 hp and 575 Nm, up to 536 hp and 650 Nm on Overboost.
The XR6 Sprint is only available with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the XR8 can be specified with a six-speed manual gearbox instead.

A soon-to-be extinct species thanks to globalization, local car industry decided by outsiders, profit margin hunting shareholders, & Aussie Govs that dun care about local automotive industry. This is where we r heading if Gov listen to bashers.
XR6 & XR8 ….. A must for the Aussies and kiwis. I was so tempted to buy one while in NZ…great cars indeed. But NOT Some Darby…they are blood suckers.
The XR6 is an inline 6. Not a V8
Yes, that’s right. Apologies for the mistake.
This looks nice!
Wish it wouldn’t be phased out…
