Following the introduction of the facelifted Toyota 86, the company’s in-house tuning shop Toyota Racing Development (TRD), has released an extensive list of modifications for the two-door sports car. How extensive? The size of the gallery posted here is a good point of reference.
Starting with the exterior, TRD has tagged on an extended black front splitter and a set of LED DRLs to make the 86’s front-end even more attractive. Side skirts have also been added here, along with a lip spoiler (or carbon-fibre rear wing) on the bootlid.
The rear sees a new rear bumper, along with a set of quad exhaust pipes. Look closely, and you’ll spot the lesser modifications, including extensions for the lip spoiler just above the rear tail lamps, fender vent inserts and black accents beneath the side windows. Also available are 18-inch five-spoke forged aluminium wheels, along with two 17-inch options from SARD and TOM’s.
Performance mods are primarily focused on improving the 86’s handling. Adjustable coilovers, a front tower brace, underbody brace set and a motion control beam are just some of the available parts. Powertrain upgrades offered include a mechanical limited-slip differential, as well as a new clutch plate.
Inside, the standard seats can be replaced with full bucket or sports seats. Elsewhere, the headunit area can host a meter kit (water temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature). A leather shift knob, TRD-style push-start button, side kneepads are part of the options list as well.
Need more TRD goodness? Well, you can order the sunshade, sports oil filter, oil filler cap, battery clamp, fuel cap, key case, seat belt cushioning and many more. Suffice to say, the in-house tuning company has got you covered on nearly all fronts here. Interested?

Upgrade the boring engine, then we talk.
Wheres the stripes that add 5HP?! Mana bouleh takde?!
of course many will be interested if it is a big boys toy but it is a luxury toy in M’sia… with those skirting & lips is just asking for trouble in M’sia
ini baru boleh letak TRD nama lah. Tak macam sini, “Toyota car with TRD”, rupa-rupa untuk bodykits atau facelift sahaja.
One of the most enjoyable cars i’ve driven. Sadly, too ex brand new and the recon ones are mostly autos.
Yup, it is not always about power and torque. It is the total package. Manual is the way to go for this car.
u should try the new mx5,totally diff fun level. no need TRD enhancement.
unnecessary. unless power output improved otherwise is just + / – handling and cosmetic.
p/s: they should have make the bumper one piece instead of stick on.
In Malaysia, TRD body kits alone can easily add 50hp…..
I still in love with supramkiv tt compared to this 86
