Some updates on the Chevrolet front, garnered from the regional launch of the Colorado pick-up and Trailblazer SUV that took place in the Philippines last week.
We already know that the introduction of the facelifted second-gen Colorado is imminent, given that a sample is being previewed at a Chevy stand in Naza Automall. The pick-up will go on sale here in 2.8 litre and 2.5 litre forms, the latter having been upgraded with a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT).
There’s a possibility the facelifted Trailblazer may join the fray. The seven-seater pick-up-based SUV, which was unveiled in Thailand last month, is available in both 2.8 and 2.5 litre versions, though only the 2.8 was at the event in the Philippines.
Naza Quest says that while there is no immediate plan to launch the Trailblazer here at the moment, a business case study for it is being looked at. Like the Colorado, the facelifted Trailblazer features a revised cabin, with new, soft-touch material.
Standard kit includes remote engine start, keyless entry, push-button start, automatic headlights, power-adjustable seats, a new MyLink 2 infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a reverse camera as well as windows that roll down slightly to ease closing (the latter also is to be found on the Colorado)
Higher-end variants gain automatic wipers, automatic air-conditioning, seven speakers and front and rear parking sensors, as well as navigation.
Elsewhere, the company said it is planning to introduce new Chevrolet models into the market next year. Anticipated models include the Trax B-segment SUV as well as the 2017 model year Cruze. If all goes to plan, the Korean-made Trax – seen most recently at the IIMS in April – is initially set to arrive in semi-knocked down (SKD) form sometime in the second quarter of the year.
In Indonesia, the SUV is powered by a 1.4 litre Ecotec turbo engine offering 140 PS and 200 Nm, and the dual CVCP four-cylinder unit is paired with a six-speed torque converter automatic with Tiptronic manual override.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Chevrolet is a very good car. However in Malaysia it has failed miserably. All because of the logo.
We can thank the Government for this for the Government is promoting by way of omission or commission the false thinking of the rakyat. When rakyat think wrongly, the Government does not check the rakyat.
American?? Mustang only pls.
For chevy, camaro or corvette is not bad. amerika born pickups will definitely sell by the truckloads here in ASEAN.
Still bad RV in Malaysia. Please buy Toyota Fortuner than this junk Chevrolet!
Trailblazer should be priced below MUX, otherwise will fail to sell.
Renault also fail. All because of the logo?
U mean penang state govt…oh ya under market value issit…maybe guan eng”s logo not prominent enough…
Chevy asia failed like urdidi cuz all ASEAN pipu (except kuntilanak) knows that chevy asia is actually kimchi rebadge. The only amerikan thing IS THE BADGE! Otherwise zero sales at all.
They shud be more honest to ASEAN pipu and gip real deal amerikan chevys instead of relying on the badge to survive, just like a well known jepunis overlord that u worked for.
Chevy. Zero aftersale servis. AP kroni LOL
No..but thanks.
190k for a lowest sale and unpopular brand in malaysia? which genius will go and buy this
Can’t find the section in the article which states the price. Do highlight please. Thanks.
chevy should just saupei in Malaysia… ppl only want Toyota & other Japanese or Korean brands..
this brand can just balik US tanam jagung la
From the side view, it looks like the Toyota Fortuna especially the rear glass(side way). The trailblazer looks the part of a SUV just as expected. No new LED headlamp for a 200k will definitely put a damper on your sales.
Good luck to you guys in NAZA as I think you need more than luck to ship out these Trailblazers. I still think the car sticker price is too pricey.
Very good car
Chevrolet its good car , but since Naza take over most of sales & service centre closed. The problem is sales & service centre it’s very less. Naza needs to open more sales & service centre to make Malaysian people more confident to buy the Chevrolet cars.
a sister of isuzu MU-X?
Another expensive Isuzu MU-X. At 190k, you should know where to spend your money.
