Luxury automobile tuner Mansory is well known for its polarising creations, and its line up this year for the Geneva Motor Show is no different in that respect. Just as the Geneva exhibition is an important image-builder for European automakers, so it is for Mansory, and the tuning house has gone into this year’s show with no less than eight customised models.
Starting the SUV/off-roader Mansory representation on this occasion is the Gronos G 500 4×4² ‘Black Desert’, an even more aggressive interpretation of an already imposing vehicle. No change to the G 500’s 450 mm of ground clearance, but on goes a carbon-fibre wide-body kit with larger side sills and door skins. Both front and rear fascias have also been revised with new under guards.
The G 500’s powerplant gets a tweak, too. The 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 gains a Mansory ECU for a 63 hp and 100 Nm boost, while Mansory forged wheels feature as the 4X4’s rolling stock. The interior, meanwhile, receives new carbon-fibre, Alcantara and leather appointments, while at the back, individual seats replace the standard rear bench.
Next up on the list is another Stuttgart product, with the S-Class Cabriolet getting a makeover to become a Black Edition model. Starting with the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabriolet as a base, the big soft top gets the obligatory carbon-fibre wide-body kit, which includes additional daytime running lights, air intakes and bumper canards.
A suspension lowering module brings the modified S 63 30 mm closer to the road surface, while multi-spoke wheels add to its menacing road presence. Mansory replaced the AMG’s original air intake filter and turbos as well as the stock exhaust, replacing the latter with a stainless steel system. It’s all good enough to eke out 840 hp and 1,150 Nm from the 5.5 litre biturbo V8, and performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds and a 300 km/h top speed.
Big metal continues on with theMercedes-Benz V-Class people mover. In the case of the spacious Merc, changes applied by Mansory are purely aesthetic, starting with the Mansory logo replacing the original three-pointed star. The V-Class also gets a new carbon-fibre bonnet and bodywork extensions.
Inside, Mansory elevates the interior game within the people mover, with trim appointments commissioned by the tuning firm setting out to make the V-Class cabin even more luxurious than it started with.
As for the German-based tuner’s take on the Maserati Levante, the Italian SUV gets an orange paint job laid over a carbon-fibre wide-body kit, while contrasting elements accentuate the Mansory package’s visual interplay with the Levante’s base aesthetic.
The ‘go’ department gets a 35 hp boost to keep up with the show, with a reprogrammed ECU, sports air intake filter and sports exhaust silencer part of the rework. The Levante’s interior receives a matching colour scheme, where a predominantly black interior is treated to bold orange highlights to go with the accompanying bright wood trim.
Next up, the Bentley Bentayga. Here as the Black Edition, the dressed-up Bentayga receives lashings of carbon-fibre exterior trim additions – the material is applied to the front grille, bonnet, along with sections of the front bumper, wheel arches and lower door sections.
At the back, a spoiler and rear diffuser aim to improve airflow around the area, while a new sports exhaust system improves the Bentley’s noise. Mansory’s tweaks raise the Bentayga’s output from the standard 608 PS and 900 Nm of torque to a much loftier 701 hp and 1,050 Nm, yielding a claimed top speed of 311 km/h.
The company also turned its attention to the Porsche Panamera, here given a candy red paint job along with a generous helping of carbon-fibre. Bodywork alterations include reworked bumpers, wheel arches, bonnet and side skirts.
The modified Panamera rolls on 22-inch lightweight wheels for added road presence and stability, while its engine’s breathing has been worked on with a new air intake filter, aftermarket exhaust system and a reoptimised ECU, all the work obtaining an additional 35 hp and 40 Nm of torque.
The company’s take on the Rolls-Royce Dawn, meanwhile, seems positively restrained. The Mansory Rolls-Royce Dawn gets a bodykit comprising changes to its bumpers, flanks and paintwork, while new wheels also feature on the British luxury soft-top.
Inside, Mansory provides its own take on Rolls-Royce trimmings, with burl wood, piano lacquer, brushed aluminium and – no surprise – carbon-fibre getting slapped on. It hasn’t exactly held back on tweaking the twin-turbo V12, however. The factory standard outputs of 563 hp and 780 Nm have been elevated to 740 hp and 1,000 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.5 seconds, while top speed has been increased to 285 km/h.
Any mention of luxury and performance would be amiss if it overlooked Ferrari, and here Mansory hasn’t done so. The 488 Spider gets a makeover to become the 4XX Siracusa Spider, which entails modifications to the Maranello masterpiece inside and out.
A custom exhaust system and engine management pack massages the output from the 3.9 litre twin-turbo V8 to 790 hp at 8,000 rpm and 870 Nm at 3,000 rpm, enabling a 0-100 km/h run to be done in 2.9 seconds, onwards to a top speed of 330 km/h. Progressive-wound springs bring the 4XX Siracusa Spider 20 mm lower to the ground, while new wheels and carbon-fibre bodywork additions complete the rework.
