It appears Subaru of America will have more than one surprise on June 8, because it has released another teaser image on its Instagram page, which doesn’t seem to point towards the expected BRZ STI.
The image depicts a carbon-fibre roof, along with the caption: “On 6/8/17, a better way to get your daily dose of fiber. #STI.” The bonnet scoop that is roughly visible here indicates that this is likely a special edition of the WRX STI.
According to Road & Track, the mysterious model will be known as the WRX STI Type RA, which revives a nameplate of a Japanese-market WRX in 1993. The new Type RA will reportedly also come with a rear wing, new Bilstein dampers, upgraded Recaro seats and 19-inch BBS wheels with a gold paint finish.
Subaru will also provide “gearing and engine upgrades” to improve performance, although it remains to be seen just how much more power it can wring out of its four-cylinder boxer engine. More details will be revealed when the car makes its debut next week.

I’m surprised after 2 days, no one even attempt or bother to comment on a car that is deem a performance sedan if not an exciting one.
Looks like most are more interested on our common bread & butter vehicle like Honda HRV/BRV/CRV or P1/Geely which is understandable bcos a car like this STi is out of most M’sian radar or bcos we are fed-up with too many teasers.
