The Jaguar XE L, a long-wheelbase version of the XE sedan, has been revealed on the carmaker’s Chinese website ahead of a possible launch in November. The XE L will slot beneath the XF L and XJ L in a market that has a penchant for chauffeur-driven models.
The XE L is identified by its larger rear doors, which is the result of a wheelbase that has been stretched by 100 mm to 2,935 mm, making it longer than the Audi A4 L (2,910 mm), BMW 3 Li (2,920 mm), Mercedes-Benz C-Class L (2,920 mm) and Volvo S60L (2,856 mm).
Beyond that, the design is pretty much identical to a regular XE, although exact details about the equipment that will be fitted are unknown for now. Expect features such as rear-seat entertainment and other limo-esque items to cater towards the target market.
The Chery Jaguar Land Rover joint venture will be in charge of XE L assembly, where a range of 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engines will most likely be employed. This is similar to the regular-wheelbase XE currently on sale in the country.
