The new B9-generation Audi A4 L has been revealed at the Beijing International Auto Exhibition. Longer and lighter thanks to its new MLB Evo architecture, the China-exclusive model has a 4,810 mm overall length and a wheelbase of 2,910 mm — it is noticeably longer than its predecessor, which had a total length of 4,760 mm and a wheelbase that was 2,868 mm. The new A4 L is also said to be 110 kg lighter than the long-wheelbase (LWB) model it replaces.
Outside, the new A4 L’s styling is consistent with that of the regular four-door model. Xenon plus headlights are a standard fix, while Matrix LED lighting is an optional extra. Apart from being visibly longer, the rest of the exterior looks completely identical to the short-wheelbase version of the car.
The German automaker hasn’t provided any interior images, but adds that in addition to the base models styling, sport, design and S line packages are available for A4 L customers to choose from. The rest of the cabin should look identical to the current B9 A4, save for the additional legroom in the rear.
Despite the more premium positioning of the LWB vehicle, lots of equipment and features have been left unchecked on the order form. A few of these optional items include the Audi virtual cockpit, a deluxe auto air-conditioning system, a head-up display system and the Audi MMI navigation plus with MMI touch feature. As standard, you get a basic 7.0-inch MMI colour display screen, while the larger 8.3-inch screen is a cost extra.
Powering the A4 L is a 2.0 TFI engine, available in two states of tune – 190 hp/320 Nm and 252 hp/370 Nm. Both will come standard-equipped with a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch auto transmission, delivering power to the front wheels or to all fours with the optional quattro AWD system.
The new A4 L is expected to appear in Chinese dealerships before August this year.

This is what I call a classic looking handsome car. Good to see that Audi n VW are consistent in designing good looking machines instead of going the easy routes of certain makes like Honda and Hyundai in churning out fancy pancy purposely beautiful feminine cars like the new Civic, Elantra,…etc
