2018 BMW G 310 GS arrives in Malaysia this October

With barely a week left in October, a posting on the official BMW Motorrad Malaysia Facebook page states that the 2018 BMW Motorrad G 310 GS adventure bike will be in Malaysia by the month. A single terse statement said that the G 310 GS will be arriving this October, and to check back for further updates.

The G 310 GS is based on the G 310 R naked street bike, BMW Motorrad’s collaboration with Indian bike maker TVS, and targeted at the beginner market. The G 310 series motorcycles carry a a 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine fed by EFI that puts out a claimed 34 hp at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.

Power gets to the ground via a six-speed gearbox, and braking is with a single disc front and rear, and two-channel ABS is standard. The G 310 power plant has a cylinder that is reversed, with the exhaust exiting to the rear of the bike and the EFI facing forward.

For the G 310 GS, styling follows BMW Motorrad’s styling cues from the bigger GS bikes, with long front beak for a mudguard and tall, upright seating. In Malaysia, the 2017 BMW Motorrad G 310 R retails for RM26,900, including GST.

Was informed the price is gonna go up… which see no justification why the price would go up when exchange rates was the same as it was during launch mid this year.

Mohan…can you confirm if the price stays the same or going up. will skip for other brand if price goes up.

BMW is losing out on the Malaysian market as most hold B2 license . The price is within their reach but it would be illegal to ride one on our roads….

Like that’s going to stop Malaysians from buying these kind of bikes…

Many people drive even without a licence, so what makes you think someone with a B2 licence won’t be going to BMW Motorrad showroom?

If you already has B2 (and no longer a P ), apply for B full learner – L at JPJ. Then can lah, as long without pillion. Btw, L can only renew max 2 years, and have to be renew every 6 months (option for shorter 3 months renewal also got).

  • Is a waste to come with 300cc where full B license is needed.

They should consdider the 250cc and price it around Rm 20K.

the 25 G310 allocated for Malaysia are all sold out, price and the requirement for a full B licence are not the deterrence for Malaysian to own this baby Motorrad, availability of stock is the issue here.

Looks like BMWMCM members will increase after this..I hope BMWMCM limit the membership with minimum of 600cc bike in order to protect the prestigious society …i hope it wont be like Kawasaki Group Malaysia because it is purely rubbish because lots of idiots in 250cc bike pretending to be rich

    • Beh tahan, see you discriminate the low cc bikers. A motorcyclist is a motorcyclist, irrespective of what they ride. No one is born rich like you and ride SBK (or whatever) once they got their license. Now if you happen to have trouble on the road one of these days, tell the small kapchais who (definitely) come over to help, not to bother as they are all idiots ?
