October 2017 week five fuel prices – up and up again

It’s coming up to the end of October already – this month flew by really quickly, didn’t it? It’s time for yet another fuel price update, and it’s all up and up again.

For the last week of October (Oct 26 to Nov 1) RON 95 is priced at RM2.20 per litre (up three sen from RM2.17 last week), while RON 97 goes for RM2.50 per litre (up three sen from RM2.47).

October 2017 week five fuel prices – up and up again

As for Euro 2M diesel, it’s priced at RM2.13 per litre this week (up two sen from RM2.11), and Euro 5 diesel – always higher by 10 sen over Euro 2M – is at RM2.23 per litre.

This is the 31st weekly fuel pricing update since the system’s implementation on March 30. Compared to March 2017 prices, which was the last month before weekly pricing took effect, RON 95 is down by 10 sen (from RM2.30 per litre), RON 97 by 10 sen (from RM2.60 per litre) and Euro 2M diesel is down by 7 sen (from RM2.20 per litre).

Singapore and Malaysia Merdeka about the same time. Look at SGD now. It is 3.2 to the Ringgit. On top of that, GDP in Singapore 3rd highest in the world.

But Singapore got ZERO resources. Malaysia has No 1 resources in the world.

bro, singapore is very small in size. even smaller than Melaka. therefore it has better distribution per revenue when it comes to development. if indonesia gives the Sumatera island to Singapore, they will find it tough to control and develop too.

I grow tired of repeating this- we seperated on unequal footing. S’pore GDP was already higher than us even back in1965. Yes they have zero resources but also next to zero problems of developing their tiny island because they don’t have to share resources to be given to low income states like Perlis. They didn’t have to build as much as roads as we had to, or schools, or bridges, or railway tracks, or jetties,or lay as much cable likes had to to electrify the nation and let’s not forget clean tap water for everyone. All they had was an island the size of Penang to worry about, and most of it was already built up. So stop comparing Spore with us. They had a head start.

Utter bull. Singapore does not have oil. Petronas was making RM100 billion per year during good times.

Singapore only got 3 million citizens, so lesser income tax.

In 1965 up to 1982, Singapore SGD and RM was 1 to 1. So, utter bull that 1965 they were higher than us

South Korea is bigger than Malaysia. Yet, they are first world. They too had to make clean water, railway tracks etc etc

South Korea benefited from big injections of foreign aid, first from the US, then Japan. A briefing paper from KoFID, a South Korean network of civil society organisations, and ReDI, a South Korean thinktank, points out that the US dished out $60bn in grants and loans to South Korea between 1946 and 1978. In the same period, the total amount of aid provided by the US to the entire African continent was $68.9bn.

Azhar, thanks for your comment but to be exact, its AUD $1.19 (lowest) and highest is $1.35 (highest) for this week. Also, that’s the price for RON 91. Here in Australia, RON 95 is considered premium and the best fuel you can buy is RON 98. Having said that, if you dont convert – your statement is valid – Malaysian are paying a premium for their fuel

Tesla cars have the lowest reliability. Go read consumer reports. You’ll be paying more for service and maintenance along with a high electric bill than just with a pure gasoline vehicle.
