VIDEO: Lamborghini Urus heads out into the snow

Lamborghini has released another video previewing the off-road capability of its upcoming Urus SUV, this time trading sand for snow. The Urus will celebrate its global debut on December 4, where it will go up against other performance-focused SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne.

Using the car’s ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligence Management) system, drivers will be able to cycle through a list of drive modes – Strada (Road), Sport, Corsa (Race), Sabbia (Sand), Terra (Dirt) and Neve (Snow).

In this instance, Neve is the appropriate mode to be in, with Lamborghini saying it will “guarantee the best driving experience on snow.” There’s plenty of sliding around but the SUV appears to be well within control, with its all-wheel drive system likely hard at work to provide optimum traction.

The Urus will reportedly ride on the MLB Evo platform, which is also used for the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga and Porsche Cayenne. However, Lamborghini says the SUV will get a bespoke 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine that isn’t found on other Volkswagen Group cars.
