The 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class rides on a new, modular front wheel drive platform, one that will be used for at least eight new upcoming models. This was confirmed by Gorden Wagener, chief design officer at Daimler, in a report by CarAdvice.
“I can assure you that all variants on this platform, there will be at least eight, will be stunning,” Wagener said. He noted the platform allowed for several elements – short front overhang, low front, large wheel sizes, dash-to-axle ratio and proportion – that are important for good design.
Wagener didn’t provide a list of models, but there is always room for speculation. The new A-Class Sedan is one of the confirmed models, along with a long-wheelbase version. Joining it will be the new CLA, GLA, GLB and B-Class. That’s six models, with two more to spare, and there are certainly a lot of possibilities.
So, make your educated guesses and try to list out what new models will be coming from Mercedes-Benz in the future. A new CLA Shooting Brake, perhaps? Or the production version of the EQ A?

Wow all new CLA coupe & convertible!
The A class sedan LWB should be for the Chinese market. Looking at it the rest of the world will opt for the C class over the LWB.
Merz always designs the c pillar so ugly…v40 looks so much better

Yah! Everyone know that. But V40 doesn’t have ACC, no semi-autonomous driving.

In Thailand I’m guessing the A250 will be selling around the same price as the soon to be launched here XC40 T5. Different body style but what wd you prefer?
