2019 Mercedes-AMG SLC43 now comes with 385 hp

The Mercedes-Benz SLC has been given a number of updates for the 2019 model year, before it goes on sale in the United States. These enhancements involve both the regular as well as AMG models, including the SLC 300 and SLC 43.

For the SLC 300, the revisions are merely the addition of new standalone options – ambient lighting, Blind Spot Assist, Harman Kardon Logic 7 sound system, dash analogue clock and Parktronic. Under the bonnet, a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder continues to serve up 241 hp and 370 Nm, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. With drive going to the rear, 0-96 km/h is done in 5.8 seconds.

The changes on the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 are more substantial, as the 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 now makes 385 hp. That is 23 hp more than the 2018 model year car, but the company did not mention anything about torque or performance specifications. Given that the horsepower count is identical to the C 43 facelift, expect the V6 to continue making 520 Nm, albeit at an earlier rev point.

Aside from the engine, the SLC 43 now comes with dual-zone climate control and active LED Headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist as standard. The car can also be ordered with a Graphite Grey exterior paint finish.
