It appears that we’re closing in on the Malaysian launch of the Audi Q2 – a quick check on Audi Malaysia’s website reveals the sole Q2 Sport 1.4 TFSI variant, priced at RM219,900. When the Q2 made its surprise debut here in Malaysia at the paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) (together with the second-gen Audi Q5) event last November, a Euromobil salesperson said it will cost under RM230k, making it cheaper than the locally-assembled MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports.
At the same time it debuted, bookings for the Q2 were opened as well. What do you get for the money? Well, to start, the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA rival is powered by a 1.4 litre TFSI (turbocharged) engine that makes 150 hp at 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. This is the same engine used in the current Volkswagen Tiguan, and it’s mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
What’s unique though, is that the engine in the Audi features cylinder on demand technology, which shuts down two cylinders while coasting when engine speed is between 1,400 and 3,200 rpm. This helps save fuel, and the claimed fuel consumption is 5.3 litres per 100 km, or 18.9 km/l. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is done in 8.5 seconds and top speed for the 1,280 kg mini SUV is 212 km/h.
Exterior features include LED headlights with LED DRLs, LED combination tail lights with dynamic turn signal, adjustable side mirrors with heated function and parking aid plus with rear view camera. It rides on 17-inch five-arm star style alloys, shod with 215/55 profile tyres.
Inside, the fully-imported SUV will get a three-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel, leather combination seat upholstery, automatic climate control, foldable rear bench, as well as anodised red interior trimmings. Light package has also been specified, which gives the cabin a unique ambient lighting setting.
Other creature comforts include Audi drive select, electro-mechanical parking brake, keyless entry with push-to-start, cruise control, and heat-insulating side and rear windows. There’s also MMI navigation plus, Audi virtual cockpit, and a 180-watt, 10-speaker Audi Sound System with six-channel amplifier.
Standard safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, hill hold assist, Isofix child seat anchors for the outer rear seats plus another seat anchoring system for the front passenger seat, as well as frameless electrochromic rear view mirror.
Now, each purchase of the CBU Q2 comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty. The Q2 should be making its official Malaysian arrival in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for full details!

The price is completely ridiculous!!!
And it’s ugly.
Tiguan is much nicer
DRB should ckd assemble the Audi Q2.
Priced below Rm120k to fight with HRV
(Like) Audi Q2 Sport 1.4 TFSI
(Dislike) Volvo XC40
(Like) BMW X2, Audi Q2 Sport TFSI
(Dislike) Mercedes Benz GLA
(Like) Audi Q2 Sport
(Dislike) Proton X50
Direct competitor for XC40 is the new Q3 by the way
For that price, you don’t even get electric seats, let alone memory seats. Shame on you, Audi Malaysia.
That’s why malaysians prefer to buy BMW or mercedes. got more features
Nice and Cheap
Very poorly specced, what a rip off. This shouldn’t have cost more than rm170k. rip Audi Malaysia
RM220 seems rather cheap for a CBU. But if true, that’s a great deal. But where is the new Q5? Saw a Singaporean registered Q5 a few months back. What a gorgeous SUV.
Better wait Proton X50 1.5T Premium.
Probably the most bland car on planet earth
Tiguan in Audi badge. A wolf with Armani suit
Audi and Lexus continue to ignore what the buyers in their target market are looking for, which is autonomous safety features. Other brands that are offering them have built up sufficient sales numbers to do CKD whereas these two continue wallow in anguish. RIP.
The only two Lexus plant outside japan is North America, so still ok la at least made in japan they want control their reliability and quality.
Audi on the other hand quality alr so bad even cbu, should just ckd.
Lexus doesn’t care about those who cannot afford their cars. They’d rather be pricey CBU than faulty CKD.
I bet Audi Malaysia can’t even sell 1unit of this q2….unless they register thier own then sell under pre-owned.
Another good car ruined by Euromobil. Overpriced and under-specced. At least spec it with the rims as shown in the brochure.
If price and sell it RM55K , many buyers will buy it immaterial whether it is manage either by Euromobil or whatmobil dealership
What a rip off! The rear lamps look like a Polo hatch back.
A CBU it may be but it can’t beat the XC40 with its full spec list. For 35k you are getting a lot more stuff like electric seats, dynamic headlights, bigger rims, a full suite of safety aids and many more. Heck even the X1 which is only 8k more has a bigger interior and a more powerful engine. Audi should begin CKD and price this just under 200k maybe customers can consider the 60k gap in spec. Oh well at least Audi is offering 5 year warranty now compared to MBM’s 4 years.
Looks dull and uninspiring like early 2000s car fitted with aftermarket leds
Is it me or does the Q2 look like a taller version of the P2 Axia from the front.
Audi got really good comments overseas, including Singapore , look at the amount of the cars on the road. How pity those only brand gila thought they knew car a lot.
with this price, T fortuner is much better. for die hard fan of Audi absolutely they will choose Q2
SAY NO TO AUDI!
CX3 feels more premium and better than this Q2 .
nothing premium about the car besides its price. inside worse than chr or hrv. better buy x70.
Ugly as hell. Looks like a Korean car in the 1990s.
Overpriced as well. So many better cars at this range.
